As long as the media have been interested in the Manchester City ownership, City fans have asked where is the scrutiny of 'owners' like Alisher Usmanov. And still we have almost total silence. For the benefit of those who don't know, and why would you? Usmanov is rumoured to be the money behind Moshiri at Everton FC and at the same time he is probably the King of all oligarchs.

The silence is deafening.

Avoid radio 5 this morning - a white Manchester United player was booed at Wembley, it’s full on “won’t someone please think of the children” time.
I was thinking this when I heard about it, I'm sure Sterling got booed several times on International duty and I honestly don't remember it being mentioned once.

Only stopped when he came out and started speaking out about it.

The Guardian regularly describes Manchester City as sportswashing the UAE, logically then every international game is sportswashing, and yet this is used only in reference to Manchester City.
F1 must have been sports washing on Sunday in Saudi Arabia?

I must have missed deloony and nostrils Harris frothing at the mouth telling everyone.

Sterling got booed for being perceived, at the time, as being greedy and not very good, Maguire is having it now for being shitter, greedier and being a liar.
Not sure what colour, in your post has to do with it. Lots of white and black players have been booed over the years by the type of supporters that go to internationals.

I’d guess the reference to skin colour comes from the different approach taken to the booing of an England player. Sterling was booed for being a bit shit for England, the discussion the next day wasn’t ‘is it fair’ it was more about why the boos were justified. Maguire is booed and it’s all of a sudden unfair and not warranted.

Colour is t the reason behind it for my money, it’s which club Maguire captains.
