Very serious and informed discussion on Talkshite this morning with famous "Manchester Cirrrspondent fir rhe Guardian", Jamie Paradise. Apparently, MbRashford must surely be a "shoe-in" for player of the year. Not, I may add, united's player of the year, but the PLs.

Well if he scores say 25 premier goals and Haaland scores 40 we know how it works don’t we?!

I don’t doubt this is a very real scenario, certainly football writers award. They’ve always had the caveat that it doesn’t man you’ve been the best footballer that season…..eh wtf..

I cancelled my licence years ago and have had 3 visits from the licence fee goons (capita). All you have to say is that you revoke their implied right to access and close the door.

I recently moved home.
We bought our new house and transferred the tv licence to the new address.
The old house was sold 3 months later but, in that short period I received 4 increasingly aggressive letters, each strongly implying that they would prosecute me for not having a tv licence.
I just ignored them as I wasn’t watching tv in the old house, but they were so threatening that I could see why a lot of people would fold and pay them regardless
They act like thugs, they use crude bullying tactics to intimidate people and it convinced me that I should do without a licence in future years, as a point of principle.
To that end we’ve completely weaned ourselves off the terrestrial tv. We watch everything online or through a fire stick and we don’t watch bbc or itv online content.
All I have to do is get out of the habit of listening to radio 4 (which is getting too right wing for me nowadays anyhow) and I’ll then cancel the licence for good.
Not like I can’t afford one, but for the little we’ve ever used the tv it’s not worth it and I don’t like dealing with organisations that act like thuggish twats.

Do you need a TV licence to listen to BBC radio?

Grealish runs into trouble deliberately to win a foul instead of running towards goal. It might have been good for Villa but doesn’t cut it for City unless we are 2-0 up with minutes to go.
Bollox. The number of times he has been tackled from behind. In fact against Leeds he was chased across the half way line by a player who tried to push him and then, a few minutes later, the same player had him by the shirt. There really is a narrative against the guy.
