The Thursday night "MUFC journey" is far more enjoyable for me.
It's European football, but nowhere near the level they once had. So close, but so far away.
If they finished outside the European places then the Glazers would have to look seriously at their "soccer investment" as the revenues and media interest would reduce. This could result in a massive overhaul with, God forbid, somebody who is competent getting a grip on the team and having a successful long-term plan.
Let them toddle along in the Europa League playing Villarreal...

Along the same lines, this was the third time in seven seasons that Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City absolutely destroyed Bundesliga opposition in the last 16. The 7-0 win over Leipzig made it 22 goals in the last six such games. Such a scoring gap primarily comes from a financial gap, and one that goes beyond City’s state ownership.
