Media thread 2022/23

The media (like all places of work) is full of 25-45 year olds as that is the dominant working age. That generation grew up in the 80s-90s.
An era dominated by … Liverpool and United (with a good Arsenal).

Its no wonder they dont like city. Its bias because they remember fondly on the red teams from when they were kids, whether they can see it or not. Its natural

You can see it playing out generationally. Over the last few years youre starting to see a greater level of positive chelsea reporting, as the kids that grew up watching 00s football hit the place of work.

I know so many people with no real football allegiances with kids (mostly below 10) who have chosen city (glory hunting twats!). They will be the dominant working generation in 15-20 years.

It will gradually improve but when we look back at this time in 15-20 years I fully expect a complete mood change In regards our relationship with media and how we are written about.

Until then, I’m going to enjoy the immense volumes of piss boiling we continue to deliver.

Luvin' today's media narrative of big bad rich City vs little old Bayern.
They are sticking to their script & highlighting the establishments agenda against MCFC.
The UK media showing a preference to a German team is a new low even for them though - absolute fucking wankers.
We seem to have got under their skin long may it continue

I'm starting to see this thread differently now, originally I just wanted the media to have some enthusiasm and say kind words about City, they very rarely do and its lead to me to being annoyed! It's not ruined my day, but it doesn't add to the experience other fans have had.

Over the years I realise that positivity is way down the line.

Maybe one day someone will be able to write positive things about the blues and this thread won't exist anymore, but that will only happen when the chief editors are no longer allowed to dictate a journalist story or they retire and new blood takes over, who are warmer about City.

The most positive thing to come from this is to

.....Just be content to know, they're fookin hurting and see the funny side of their bitter turmoil.

And it's not to bad.

so...Jews and Arabs out...BELONGS TO THE PEOPLE..??
more than a whiff of the old 1939 Bier keller about this....where's Lineker when ya need him?

I was in Budapest a few weeks back and got talking to some Hamburg fans who weirdly had an affinity to Bayern Munich. They were giving it ‘how can you support City with Arab owners’, they seem to have short memories at Hamburg that they were sponsored by Emirates, apparently taking Arab sponsorship money is different to Arab owners in their eyes. Weirdos.

I’m away with work this week and I watched the game on BT Sport last night. Lucy Ward was abysmal throughout the match. Even to the point where she said that “Bayern will definitely score against City tonight”. Constantly cheering Bayern on. Gave us zero credit all night….
When people are given jobs for reasons other than their ability, this tends to be the outcome, unfortunately.
