Although I disagree with some of his pushy, activist views on us, and I am almost sure they are coming from the above like this last article, I have to admit I like to read Ronay. It might be because I am a snowflaky Guardian reader, or I like his writing style. This is very good, I cannot stop chuckling

Does this sound enough? By the end that 4-1 defeat certainly felt like something more basic. To choke is to have agency, to have a decisive say in what happens to you. Mikel Arteta’s team went to the Etihad as league leaders and spent 90 minutes being marched around like a team of straw-stuffed tailor’s dummies. Even the stumbles of the past few weeks have felt like something induced by the pressure at their back, a human-scale football entity being pursued by a team so good they appear to be operating to a different set of laws, for whom victory is simply a matter of pressing go and following the playbook.

Phew, normal service resumed. Was getting worried about Barney yesterday..

Ignorant ****, it’s only him and a few dickhead snowflakes who read his bullshit that actually care. I hate how the Guardian journalists write as though they’re some paragon of virtue for the whole of society.

It was reported that the delay over the Grealish transfer 2 years ago was because when we offered the buyout clause, Villa's upper management delayed as long as possible and tried to shop him around to sell him anywhere but us.

Who knows how true it is, but he doesn't like us.

I heard that certain clubs put pressure on Villa not to sell to us so Villa held off and tried to drum up interest elsewhere but none of these called big clubs who’d put pressure on Villa not to sell were prepared to match the buy out clause - so the whole process was a farce.

“A team operating to a different set of laws”

He’s not fucking wrong but I doubt how he meant.

Fucking hell what's up with talksport. Also as predicted the usual tribal comments.

Perhaps they as well as the rest of the media together with the stupid PL charges are responsible for actually catalysing the bond between the team and its supporters.

The more we are cricised the more we are part of the team. Just like the old days except now we are winners.

For heaven's sake don't inform our oil money critics we are about 23 percent American owned.
