Media thread 2022/23

I never write in this thread but I'll say my two cents regarding hearing about these journalists coming out now.

Everything regarding FFP is stupid... because FFP is stupid a concept.

FFP was NOT designed to keep the league competitive, that is a big misnomer the general populace has.

Instead it was a limitation on spending wherein the big clubs stayed big and the small clubs stay small, hence, FFP is essentially ANTI-COMPETITIVE.

Even if City did break FFP rules, I don't care at all if media spew this because FFP is a sham to begin with.

On top of that, FFP was designed to stop clubs from going bankrupt, and over the last few years we have STILL SEEN MANY CLUBS FUCK UP FINANCES EVEN WITH FFP. And City were clearly never in danger of going bankrupt, so it's design implementation for it's intention was insanely flawed.

The league could have easily put in a limit to spending by ALL clubs in the premier league, similar to America which forces all teams to have the same wage/spending cap, but they didn't. If they truly wanted competition, where everybody is fighting for the league they could have done this.

Anyways, that's it. FFP is the biggest sham of a system I have ever seen in professional sport.
1000% this

Brilliant,we know what’s going on,they know what’s going on,and we know that they know what’s going on,don’t fucking poke the bear and then expect to pat it like a puppy dog ..

We should have dragged the **** on stage & covered him in champagne & made him the centre of our celebrations. I’d have liked him lifted on the chefs shoulders, leg & winged from the players & slid across the floor by Brandon whilst everybody sang his name.

The likes of Delaney, Harris, Liew, Ronay et al come across a hating football.

Failed writers/journalists that were clearly not good enough for bigger investigative stories, or due to some office misdemeanor were banished to the football desk.

A Slough House for journalists, at first they thought it was an easy if boring gig, but a silver lining was reporting on the boyhood teams they 'followed' when winning all the time. Then we came along and they have proved why they are the 'Slow Horses' of journalism.

They are the equivalent of opinion piece writers in the world of party politics in the way that their output is coloured by who they support.
The big difference with this lot is they are never outright about which party(club) they support, and their output is presented under the guise of sports news.

Make it simple, have them write who they support in brackets or at the end of all their articles ;-)

Maybe a big red bus should should follow them everywhere with a slogan

"City have 5 titles in 6 years, lets give them to United, Liverpool and Arsenal instead'

Quite.

And to follow up what I said before, I mean the team they really support; none of this Wrexham FC or Stockport County nonsense, which is the equivalent of PL referees who amazingly all support lower/non league sides.
