Went to see Jersey Boys last night, loved it. The song December 63 men's a lot to me, not for any romantic reason but because it was playing on the radio all the time as I drove down to the league cup final in March 1976. That and Convoy appropriately were both playing that wonderful day, and was all we had to dine out on for the next 35 years. Ironically I thought it was the start of something but proved a high water mark, unlike May 2011. Only regret over the last ten years wish it happened when I was younger.

The Queen and the Queen Mum loved to Sportswash, apparently. We have just had the Commonwealth games in Birmingham. Not a peep from anyone (apart from this article) about the Queen Mum and her soft power strategy and love to sportswash the world. Steve Cram, Liz Coulghan, Daley Thompson, Mo Farah and Fatima Whitbred all cynically used in the name of the Queen and her Sportswashing strategy.
