On the media, the wankathon on Liverpool's win is, as expected, sickening and over the top. Now yes, 9-0 is obviously an impressive scoreline but it was against a woeful Bournemouth who were beyond shite yesterday. The scousers also had one of those games everything they hit went in. Our win was much more impressive turning a 0-2 deficit around against a tough well disciplined Palace side, but nothing changes eh?

We will never win with the English media. But things are changing abroad, especially in the USA, where there is not a culture of jealousy which means anyone who is successful is targeted. I have watched a couple of recent matches with the US coverage (I am recovering from surgery so can't attend games for now). It is like chalk and cheese compared to SKY and the BBC. Fair, balanced, with the emphasis on celebrating brilliance. SKY and the BBC are incapable of producing impartial and professional coverage and the press is even worse.
The most stupid thing is that English football has been transformed in the last ten years and the PL is the greatest asset the UK could possible have. Football is now our biggest export and generates huge wealth in this country (not just for the players either). But this story has been missed by most of the media because of their fixation on the past.

I think you are correct, it was Mowbray and he was excellent. Especially the comment about 'mentality monsters'.

You look at Peps influence on the game in this country and its been astonishing but he's given little credit. Remember how he was mocked when he first arrived? His style won't work in the premier league, blah blah blah. Now every team try to play out from the back, even in the lower leagues instead of just hoofing it for the forwards to chase.

As a club we have been involved in two of the most dramatic last day title deciders ever seen. Our club help the premier league brand sell itself worldwide and the fuckers should be eternally grateful.
 
The fawning over the red scouse after a Bournemouth collapse is duplicitous. City would have been accused of distorting competition with dirty money. The inhaler gang get the fawning treatment. Masters is bound to be concerned that the league is uncompetitive due to the financial might of the America teams!

City can just about compete. Finding players like Haaland, Alvarez and Sergio for the same amount of money Liverpool paid for Darwin. I really hope we can compete with this winning machine and keep the competition honest.

Numerous media outlets told the world that Peps tika taka football wouldnt work in the prem and mourinho had the edge over Pep due to his prem experience, I remember this particular article which is funny reading now

The difference between Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola in this aspect is that the manchester united boss can shape his team to win against differing opposition, while Guardiola will refuse to compromise on his strong ideology and philosophy when it comes to implementing an effective game plan. It might not always be pretty to watch, but united will dig out more points than City when the going gets tough.

Spot-on. City are one of the main reasons the overseas broadcast deal has hugely increased. We have brought new customers to the market especially in North and South America. Of course the LFC/MUFC rivalry is huge commercially across the world but the UK media has failed to make the most of the Pep revolution at City. England's upsurge at international level is also down to Pep. English football has transformed. The crowds in the lower leagues (especially non league) have never been higher. And yet some media firms, particularly the BBC, seem unable to move away from the "money is evil" and "football is doomed" narratives or the false forecasts that Covid would kill lots of small clubs.
Let's face it most things are fucked in the UK at the moment but football is a huge success story so why run it down?
