Done. I’ve emailed press office & customer support. As a long term supporter I want answers from the club about these comments - & why we supporters have to put up with such a disgraceful interview without seeing repercussions. We’re constantly having to defend the club to opposition fans.
I’m so mad about this I’ve also lodged a complaint with Sky. However, they are arrogant enough to ignore it so I don’t hold out any hope.

I’ve got a feeling Mr big c*nt in charge of Sly Sports News will be getting a phone call or an email in the coming days.

That cant be right can it,? I thought the dippers had all the "Bestest" players in the world :-)
This is a worrying time for the media. Before the world cup the dips definitely had the best players but now Cazzy is the best midfielder, Rashy the best forward, PR37 the GOAT oooh hang on forget that one, Bruno then, even better than the best of the best.
The media will be tying themselves in knots to please the simpletons.

Nice on Sky Sports.
Female Italian commentator talking about Juventus situation of the resignation of the entire board due to financial irregularities , mentions that a complaint has been made by "La Liga" demanding they be sanctioned - im guessing by our old fascist racist friend Tebas.
Then mentions us and PSG having been the subject of similar complaints from La Liga, then likens the complaint to our previous run ins with UEFA and more or less accuses the clubs of having cooked the books and falsified sponsorship values. English Sky commentator ends with "its so unfair and not a level playing field is it?"
Fucking disgraceful and the club should immediately ask for a rebuttal statement.
The problem is, the apology/ rebuttal statement will be made at 3am. Its like when the newspapers print a front page headline that is a lie. 3 weeks later, on page 9, bottom left hand corner a 3 line, 'we accept our report regarding xxx was inaccurate and we have taken steps to address it'

She was part of the Guardian podcast mafia, the likes of Glendening, Ronay, Wilson and her took turns to denigrate us. Consequently I binned it off.

It’s absolutely tragic how easily people buy into right wing propaganda on here.

What you’re saying is Gary Lineker isn’t allowed to criticise Qatar because between 2009-2012 he worked for Al-Jazeera.

I wonder if anything might have happened since 2009 that would make someone change their mind about the Qatari regime?

I wonder if you also hold yourself to the (moronic) standard of never changing your position on something over 10 years?

Gary Lineker is a smug prick, but he’s not a hypocrite. The Daily Mail has been desperately running hit pieces on him ever since he backed up his pro refugee and other left leaning statements by hosting refugees in his home.

You’d think someone who spends their time raging against biased media sources and agendas would pick up on one when they see it…
I think it’s only fine and fair that we are classed as a Sport Washimg state, noting your argument.

Merry November.

If I recall correctly ADUG did pay the Etisalat sponsorship but UEFA accepted that was later refunded by Etisalat.

Oh yes, I remember now.

Etisalat 2 stipulated that Etisalat pay sponsorship monies to ADUG and ADUG pay the monies to City. It took two years to finalise the contract though, during which time the parties worked under a Heads of Agreement, which allowed City to invoice. Etisalat corporate governance didn't allow them to make payments under a HoA, so for two years they didn't pay. For those two years, ADUG advanced the monies to City and were later paid in full by Etisalat when the contract was signed.

City mentioned in their submission that UEFA had accepted that Etisalat had paid ADUG for the sponsorship monies for these two years.

But it was all time-barred anyway, so CAS didn't conclude on it.

Is that about it?

The second Etisalat contract was all a bit messy IIRC, and hopefully lessons about the need for simplicity and transparency have been learned.

It was almost as I'd he was perfectly aware of the situation like most people in the world at the time, and thought I'll take the job anyway.

I would imagine most intelligent people knew what Al-Jazeera was when it first appeared. I used to watch it for the different viewpoint, but stopped when it became a bit too much. I went in with my eyes wide open, I am sure Lineker was able to do the same.

Not criticising him for it, don't care that much. But I can't imagine he didn't know what he was doing. He's not an idiot.

Those apologies are always worked out with both sets of lawyers beforehand.

Certainly true, however, the paper will put it somewhere that is least damaging.

Ha ha ha. Introduced as an authority on the subject, then outright accuses City of fiddling the books. Pmsl
She is a journalist who lives in London and has never lived elsewhere. She is a Juve supporter basically trying to say that so many clubs are “at it” that the accusations against Juve are about actions which are common in football, so let us off, please.

I’ve always felt that it should be mandated that any apology/retraction in the press should have the same prominence and column inches as the article that gave rise to it.

That makes sense - front page on a Sunday lie gets a front page on a Sunday apology.

I assume the only way you’d get that is after a lengthy court case so a page 19 Weds 1 inch apology is the closest you get.
