It’s fashionable to treat city with the contempt that we’re currently seeing.

They could report on how eating vegetables is good for us , they wouldn’t know why or even be bothered to research it but just because they think it’s what people want hear thus putting them in a pulpit of self entitlement and adulation.

Samuel doesn’t have deadlines. He just throws truthbombs out when the mundane journalists veer too far off piste.

The Athletic came on the scene three years ago saying they would be different from the rest of the UK sports media and many of us signed up believing that. We soon found out they were nothing but a Liverpool/ Rag fanzine.
After that first year of subscription the vast majority of City fans saw them for what they are are and cancelled. Since then they have been unapologetic in their writing for the red shirts. I hope their UK arm goes bust

I am not sure these days because City have a huge and rapidly growing fanbase in the USA where the Athletic is based. Lee is their dedicated Manchester City reporter. They already have plenty of LFC and MUFC writers so I don't see the point of what Lee is doing in commercial terms.

This parasite was sussed a long time ago. Only a handful of Americans exposed to the Athletic and some gullible out of towners have any respect for this dickhead nowadays

His analysis of games, jointly done with others, and backstories of players I thought have been good. I didn't like his CAS stuff but put that down to having bad sources.

This latest article was completely unnecessary and feels like he's done it just to get kudos off dominic king and other northern correspondants.

Unlike others on here I've don't care if he's a utd fan. Stuart Brennan is a utd fan and he's been backing us up and being fair with us on twitter.
