No mention of a ‘state run club’ in either the Daily Mirror or Daily Express reports.

The Daily Mirror version of events.

Martin Brundle was snubbed by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola on his grid walk ahead of the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.

The Sky pundit was on his usual walk ahead of the race when he happened across the Spaniard. He stopped him for a chat, but Guardiola immediately said to the broadcaster: "I just spoke already with Sky! I spoke twice with Sky."

Brundle replied: "Okay, three times lucky then." To that, Guardiola appeared to say rather sarcastically: "Yeah, I'm lucky." The pundit then went on to ask about the current state of the Premier League table: "Second in the championship with Man City," he said, before he was abruptly cut off by the coach.

"No, let's not talk about football today," said Guardiola. Immediately after that, he walked off while two guards were seen ushering Brundle and his camera operator away. "It's okay, I've been thrown out of better places than this," quipped the Sky pundit.

Hopefully he's been covered in syrup and staked out on an ant hill in a remote part of the desert.

It just shows how spending money on players brings out a whole lot of hatred from all and sundry, if the likes of twatty Brundle are now getting involved

This world cup is of course all about money (probably always has been), but for these BBC pundits to say that they thought long and hard about boycotting this but then realised they loved their jobs so went to Qatar so they could have an opportunity to 'have the hard conversations' ..... boy, what a load of tripe, they could have stayed at home and had the hard conversations and kept at least a small degree of integrity - gits

I can’t imagine being appalled by a montage using one player instead of another.

Using Hazard rather than KDB might make on of my eyebrows flicker up briefly, before forgetting about it instantly.
Added onto the hundreds of other deliberate errors that the BBC produce yes it does appaul me.
I want my team reported and shown in the same light as all other teans not media washed which is what is happening on a daily basis

Fair enough. It’s your right to be appalled. It doesn’t do much mind. It’s a bit like being offended, in that regard.

What a rubbish start to this competition, turned on to watch the ceremony and it’s not covered by either stations. I see all the usual media are out there who have been slated this being held in Qatar since it was announced but here they are all with their noses in the trough hypocrisy of the highest. I would have thought more if they had all boycotted the whole competition if they are so righteous about human rights.
