I think there is a bit of both, perhaps in equal measure, otherwise “dirty oil money club” would be used for vitriolic attacks against Norwegian, American, Canadian, Chinese, Nigerian, and Russian ownership groups/clubs, as well.
Has any media outlet ever actually used that phrase? I don't think even Delooney has? What some random dick on Twitter says has absolutely no effect on me.

Not that phrase exactly, of course, but “oil money” has absolutely been used by various media personalities (“journalists” and pundits). They mean it in the same way when it is said, and they know how their target audience will interpret it.

Not watched Sly Sports Saturday Night Football for months,

Thought I’d give it a go tonight.

Got to be Wolves 3 - Liverpool 0 or Villa 2 - Leicester 4.

No!

Rags v Palace.

First clip.

Tent Pep looking somber and upset walking on to the pitch with a wreath.

Off!

Is protecting the heritage important? City do ok and we have no history at all.
Heritage of clubs is important. Too many clubs gave their identity overhauled, colours and crests drastically reinvented. The Eagle crest with Latin and three stars shouldn't have happened at City in 1997. Frank Shinawatra thankfully didn't fold us. We've been bloody lucky. Thankfully investment came our way but some owners are clueless. It's more than the Premier League teams.

I agree. My post was a tongue in cheek comment on those who say City have no history.

Was there any commercially sensitive information leaked? I remember the leaks being about the state of the closed door investigation, and announcing decisions before they were officially decided.
I doubt we'll have given them any commercially sensitive information, and quite rightly so, hence their non-compliance hissy fit. Pretty sure we would have saved that for CAS. But you can be sure what was leaked to the usual suspects and then to the media was a small part of what was leaked to the usual suspects in total. Our management make mistakes sometimes but they aren't fools.

I will,ta.

Of course race is a significant factor,in certain circumstances, but it should not be the go to reason as it often is with far too many agenda driven loons.

It clearly will surprise you....but we are disliked by rivals for many other reasons.
We all know the reason we are disliked by rivals, but that isn't the point. The rival-driven agenda in the media has latched onto the lowest denominator amongst the public by labeling City as "Abu Dhabi" and this has become acceptable all over the press and the people who listen to that nonsense. Just listen to Neville.

In a world where singing Chelsea Rent Boys is a homophobic criminal offence, people can't be surprised if "grinning beards" "oil money" and even "unlimited resources" when used pejoratively and the rest are taken to be racist, or at least xenophobic, or that City fans use those labels to respond.

lots of beefs with me

I get off the bus or train People down south "get off of the bus/train? whats with this off of?
Why is Berkshire incorrectly pronounced?
It's not spelt Barkshire (Bark of a tree / the sound of a dog)

why do we use slang relating to money? a grand Pony/Monkey etc

Why do the BBC employ female ex footballer pundits who can't pronounce the letter 'G' nuffin/everythin/sumthin etc etc. Was there only 25 letters in the alphabet at there school?
That "off of" really annoys me but the slang money has been around for all my lifetime and doesn't bother me, it was adopted by on course bookmakers with their semaphore tic tac code. Score £20, Pony £25, Ton, £100, Monkey, £500 and now colloquially £1000 is a "bag" as in a bag of sand, grand, deep sea diver a fiver and cock and hen a ten but those three are more Cockney rhyming slang.

I think that’s a fair headline by Rob Drapper, a London based journalist.

It’s not too dissimilar to the headlines City have been getting for the last 14 years about their transfer spending. ;-) (Isn’t it Rob?!)

It’s Green Football Weekend so not too surprising that they mention it

Is there just a thing ?

Will they be discussing the 4G pitches etc which can not be recycled ? Plus the rumours of carcinogen cancer from all the chemicals in the rubber crumb from the old vehicle tyres ?

Or just be saying some team used an electric coach to get the match lol
