Medical

Hi mate, medicals can involve many different things. It really depends on the players age and how much the player has played in the last 12months. A medical normaly starts with blood tests and urine samples, to test for any use of drugs or banned substances. After this the player undergoes some physical tests such as weight lifting and push/pull tests. Then is aerobic excersices to measure heart rate and blood presure at high performance so the medics can gauge the overall fitness of a player and so can make an assumption as to if the player can continue at high performance through a whole season or wether or not the player will need a new regime/routine. Whilst that info is being analysed player goes through rigirous checks by independant doctors on all muscles and ligaments to see if any damage is detected. Cat scan is used for this. This is the process in a nutshell as to type out the whole thing would take me ages. The whole process takes around 12 hours but as I said before can take longer due to players age etc. Someone like RSC with a history of injurys could take a lot longer than a signing such as Gareth Barry as he has played a full season and has a good medical history so the medical would not be as rigorous. Hope this helps

It is a lot more detailed than people think. If you saw Porto v the rags in the CL this year, they have a left sider called Ally Sissohko who caught the eye of a lot of people. Anyway, AC Milan have had a £12m bid accepted for him and there's been a problem with his medical as there was a disfunction of muscles in his mouth which lead to some sort of problem with his teeth hence the deal can't go through yet??? Just goes to show that the medical must be very complex.

How would his teeth impair his performances?

I've just read into it and the problem in his teeth can lead to spinal problems??? Milan have cancelled the deal.

Thanks. Its as I imagined. The amount of money exchanged for top players not just in football but Rugby and NFL its no surprise the medical exam is very extensive.

Read the bit at the bottom of the 'club career' bit.

Yes a problem in the mouth/head can always be a bad sign, sometimes problems like that can run in the family and if the family has a past history of spinal problems that have been a consequence to the muscle disorder in the mouth, then the club will fail his medical, there is a posibility the buying club will still take the player if they can prove he will not have problems druing his stay at the club eg within 5 years of a 5 year contract

Maybe because in Milan youv'e got to brush your teeth everyday unlike the portugese scrotes :D

I read recently that Robin Van Persie was going to have his wisdom teeth removed to see if it would cure his reoccuring injuries.
I wonder if that had anything to do with this spinal thing ?

thought they put their hand under your balls and asked you to cough, wonder how bert went on after a broken neck
