Meeting Re: Atmosphere

I've heard conflicting information as to what exactly is happening - on one hand I've been told that 109, 110 and 111 will be allocated seats in the South Stand automatically, whilst on the other I'ves told me the only way to switch (for those in the European Cup Scheme) is by doing so in person tomorrow at the ground.

Does anybody have any concrete information for what's happening? It seems a bit counter productive if they're just going to fill the lower tier with fans who don't want this kind of match day experience.

This was the problem when we've done it in the past. We've just had day trippers filling in the gap between the two singing sections.

The only way we'll improve our atmosphere is if we push the two singing sections together.

Personally, I'd go for pushing us in the South Stand closer to 111 and then letting the away fans have the area we usually occupy. That way we don't lose any "banter" with the away fans but we do bring our best fans together in one place.

can you only relocate tomorrow and sunday and only at the ground? can't see it working properly if there the only days you can relocate.

Personally dont think banter is needed. We need to collectively create an atmosphere. Having fans sing about a faggot in the pink etc is not needed (unless 4.0 up when the game is over). Back City and back each other, no matter which stand. I love the songs that take the piss in the pubs. But in the ground we need to encourage the players.

I hate Stoke and everything to do with their club, but theyre atmosphere is second to none. Do you ever hear them singing about someone wearing pink? Or do you hear the whole stadium backing the players?

Just to clarify, 109-111 aren't being allocated seats in the South Stand automatically - we will retain our seats unless we switch them. Unfortunately you can only switch your seat by going to the ticket office (apparently they don't have the facility to do it over the phone or online). This does seem like a bit of an obstacle to what they're trying to achieve.

which means it probably won't work and will be a waste of time.

That's the spirit.

It's true though, i don't think two days is enough for 1500-2000 people to relocate.

Spiral J will be exclusively for Villa-Real fans, which means the other east stand spirals will be extra busy (even if the usual away entrances are available for City fans from the south end of level 2 east). Not sure where East 2 punters will use for toilets at that end, as the usual ones are on spiral J! (Presumably they'll be accessible at half time...)

I'm guessing that most displaced punters from 308/9 can have other EL3 seats if they want.

The assumption is that standing will be tolerated in all the south stand but I'm not sure at what point it becomes impossible for the licensing authority to keep turning a blind eye.

I'll give the club credit for responding to the lobby to shift the away fans, but the logistics are horrendous, and so will be the outcry from displaced fans.

And my last shot - if we'd not had the Poznan fans in that usual corner, I bet we'd never have had "the Poznan".

I'm not sure it is only 2 days. I'd be surprised if the club didn't let people swap their seats after that.
