Nearly a year on...

Cancer news.

It spread last year so now it's on my lung, liver and in my chest area. Vague. I completed all 4 double dose immunotherapy sessions in less than record time due to the amount of side effects I kept on getting. They then told me that the cancer was reducing. Great news.

Now on a thing called maintenance immunotherapy which doesn't take 3 hours to do but 1 hour. In my house. With a lovely nurse. Every month. The cancer has now been knocked back somewhat more and is stable. This means I am now allowed to do exercise other than walking the dog. Cheers doc!

My extreme fatigue has been addressed, basically my cortisone levels collapsed last year meaning I've had pills/ tests to see what's what. This has helped to balance myself a wee bit.

Still off the booze, mostly, eating healthily, nearly, but feel a lot better. The missus and friends have noticed a distinct change in my demeanour. More energy. Upbeat. Etc etc.

Not been admitted to hospital since last August so I suppose I'm now living with terminal cancer. Feels a weird thing to say. Today I've done 2 dog walks, a 6 mile home bike ride plus housework and still feel OK. Not my old levels, got to manage expectations, but quite close.

Anyhoo, remember to check any moles you have. It could save your life.

Bump. Just had a visit from a great friend, she keeps getting her face carved up and cancer removed. Even though she’s been dealing with it for a long time she’s still very self conscious about the scars. Tough beautiful very blonde woman, I feel she’s a brunette inside :) cover up peeps

This is a bastard disease I've had a few melanomas cut out of me over the decades.
First in 85 and a big 6x4 skin graft on the back of my knee. I was so so lucky as I didn't need any follow up treatment.
The last one about 18 months ago on my head.
Most of the damage was done when I was a kid back in the 70's, no sunblock in those days and being ginger, fair skin I stood no chance.

Be sensible in the sun boys and girls and get any mole seen particularly if it changes shape or grows.

Wishing everyone well who is fighting this horrible disease
