Memorial for Ricky Hatton

Without sounding heartless, I don’t see why the club should recognise him. It was great see our badge on his shorts during his rise and whilst we were shit, but that’s about it.

The one and only place he should, and I hope will get a statue is outside the arena. Far many more people worthy of seeing it will do so than his own at the stadium. He’s a boxing icon, not an icon for supporting City. I sincerely hope the powers that be do that for his legacy.

I wouldn't mind them naming the North Stand after him personally but I also like the Arena idea and that is probably the best fit.

Has to be a Manchester Arena statue.

Ricky had 15 fights at the Manchester Arena (nearest to that was Wembley Arena with 3 fights). It was his ‘home’ venue, and he won 14 of those 15 fights with some great nights in there.
Agreed.

Not Hattersley or Hyde.

Similar thoughts as others , good ambassador for the club during the “shit times “. However we had 30,000 of them on a regular basis . Think the loss of life from a few die hard fans who lived and breathed city are more worthy of a lasting memorial from city . A few of which were rightly celebrated and remembered on here .
I imagine like Ricky they followed and loved the club unconditionally.
That said I liked and respected Ricky and attended fights , condolences to family and friends and may he rest in peace .
