Memories of Newcastle May 1968, title decider.

My dad went to Newcastle with his mates from Higher Blackley British Legion. I was 7 and waited up for him to return. He brought me a bit of turf he'd got invading the pitch. I grew it for years in a plant pot . I was with my kids in the family stand when we next won it. 44 years on.

Got there before the gates opened and the ground looked half full by 1:45. Crowds outside tryingto get in.

We took at least half the attendance, no segregation, shoulder to shoulder with opposition fans, and no bother whatsoever.

Football fans enjoying a great day. One I'll never forget.

Better times in society.
Was a bit of bother at the top of the Leazes End before the start.
