Top tip Fellas, your wifes socks are softer and comfier than yours, and nearing 50 having pink socks with butterflies on is a bit Sex Pistols.

When you're as fat as I it really isn't an option, but it's the kind of thing I might have done back in the day. We called them drainpipes as a sort of 50s throwback thing. Canvas shoes and turn-ups were big in 85-86, but we drew the line at trousers that show 6 inches of ankle.
My son recently went to a family wedding back home without any socks. When he was asked why he'd forgotten to put his socks on he replied everyone would be doing it next year. Just in case you were wondering where that came from...
