Christmas is, of course, a fake Jonny Come Lately festival trying to usurp the real festival of Yule.
We celebrate Yule on the solstice (this year Fri 22) with feasting on goat meat, wassailing, burning a huge log and much more. Yule marks the triumph of the Oak King (light) over the Holly King (darkness) as the Sun starts its apparent journey North.
Have plenty of ale and Yule enjoy it.
