I'm looking for messenger software for my new macbook. Preferably one that uses the iSight camera.
Any help would be appreciated.

I've put it here as It'll get more views than on Technical Queries.

Google aMSN, I use it and it's a great alternative, easily better than Microsoft's mac offering.

The iSight usage needed some ports opening on my old router, but appears to work without any faffing at my new place...

Cheers QR... I'm downloading it now.

Loving this Mac business... Can't believe how I managed on a PC before.

loads... Everything is just easier.

You don't have to download any drivers.
The system is a lot more stable
No viruses
Never crashes
Really easy to use

I use mine for music production... the software & hardware I'm using is far better.

What are the differences?

Mac = intuitive
PC = clumsy

Mac = expensive
PC = cheap

Mac = other half can't use it :-) (I'm the intuitive one)
PC = gets cluttered with other half's dodgy spyware downloads ;-P (I'll get clobbered for that comment)

Historically software compatibility issues, less so now.

Oh I wish I hadn't spilled coffee in my powerbook and had to replace it with something cheaper and more compatible with the machines everyone else uses. Tried 4 different replacement keyboards and each one had a different set of random letters not working!!

on the subject of Macs.

Where is the cheapest place for me to get office?

Im getting my mac sometime next week

Oh my god i love Torrents.

So far I have

Office for Mac
A font book worth 5 grand
Adobe Creative suite 3
Quark xpress
Flash
Dreamweaver

gotta love Torrent sites!!!

skype is another that you can use i sight with.

Macs just piss over PCs from a massive height.

I love my black mac book. Even though they upgraded to the aliminium ones i wouldnt swap mine,

I've got the aluminium one... But the black ones look seriously cool.

Like I said, I use it for music production, and with the apple loops and effects it's easy to achieve a really professional sound without too much effort.

Svennis, out of interest which Torrent client do you use? I've been using Tomato, but I'm not sure if I like it or not.

transmission mate. its class.

Get my links through piratebay.org and torrentz

Let me know how you get on with aMSN Pearcey.

Might pick you gentlemen's brains later about torrent programs.

Quite like aMSN... I previously tried mercury messenger, which I didn't like.

Tried Transmission, I downloaded a copy of the new Travis album... (which I already own and is for back up purposes only ;-). Much better than Tomato, and takes up very little memory.

Glad you got on ok with transmission. I am currently backing up all my series of the wire through it ;)
