Messi

I just watched Lionel Messi on YouTube and i know that can make a £1 mill look £100 mill but WOAH WOAH WOAH, how is there a debate about best player in the world. Him and the tranny are so above rooney i cant believe people debate it.

I'm perfectly happy for us to sign top players but the likes of Messi, Iniesta, Torres etc can be left well alone. They are not players for our club and until Sheikh Mansour is gone, they never will be.

Fucking class act though.

By the time we get Messi he'll be 30 and ready for his last pay day. :P

We need to try and *find* new Messis if we can.

Players like messi come once every 20 years and if english teams take a player like that at a young age, they teach dribbling out of them and make them run really really fast instead, need players like messi to be trained in spain, allowed to develop in the way that is best for them

This is an interesting comment and one I'd like to have someone go deeper on for me as I'm not from England and can't speak to it. What exactly do you mean that at a young age we teach dribbling out of them and make then run really fast instead? What is the difference in English training versus Spain etc.

Are you for real?

Please tell me that was a typo....

its weird how good he is. he doesnt look like your average footballer, he looks clumsy on the ball sometimes but that is part of the magic. he somehow makes use of little time and the ball seems to stick to him. fantastic player.

Ignore him mate.....he's a wumming twat.

Why is it I get the feeling that there's no way he will be fit to play against the rags later in the competition in what will surely be billed as "the greatest european game of all time" ?

Its happened since the prem, they just tell them not to dribble, control and pass, you need speed and size to succed in the prem.

In spain they slow the game down about touch and skill, playing the game how it should be. Taking kids and nurturing a talant rather than saying stop hogging the ball and run the 100m in 5 secs or we dropping you from the youth academy. I believe strongly that walcott would of become a much better player if he learnt in spain. Wenger has just turned him into usain bolt

I don't think you can blame Wenger for Walcotts lack of control. He only bought him when he was 16 - too late to really affect a players technique.

Well considering walcott is worse now with control then he was i reckon you can blame wenger, but then i can also blame him for turning a striker into a right winger

1) lack of games
2) injuries
3) shot confidence

all have just gradually worn down that fearlessness he had as a kid.

That said he's still only 20/21. Wouldn't at all surprise me to see him back to his best sooner rather than later.

apparently Walcott only started to play football at the age of 10. Quite late really, I don't think his control is the problem, his lack of a football brain is the problem

Beckham never beat players with skill.
