Messi

This WUMery seems to have reached Spain.

Barcelona vice-president Josep Maria Bartomeu has rejected rumours that Manchester City made an audacious bid for superstar Lionel Messi during the latest transfer window.

Reports in Spain suggested big-spending City had tabled €50million plus striker Mario Balotelli to bring Argentina ace Messi to the Etihad Stadium but Barca had rejected the bid.

However, Bartomeu insists no such offer was made.

He told Sport: "Our policy is not to sell our stars but on this subject it certainly did not (happen)."

Meanwhile, Bartomeu made no guarantees over the future of Barca coach Pep Guardiola but hopes the Spaniard will stay on at Camp Nou.

The Barca chief added: "The decision lies with Pep but we hope to go on with him on the bench."

Although this was obviously bollocks, I honestly don't think that Messi would cut it in the Prem.

He would obviously "cut it" but nowhere near to the level that he does for Barca.

Maybe something like 20 goals 15 assists

i think he will end up at city one day,he says he will stay at barca for the rest of his career but who knows what could happen in the future.

i am now atarting to believe messi will one day probably next season end up at city.reasons
1
its like a new challenge when he is winning everything theres a wish to try new thing .and that new challenge is in city
2
of course he gets money too much.also he will be 1 st player to be bought in excess of 100 mill pound.thats a record he may be wishing for
3
our team set up is the perfect for him to be fit.its idle for him apart from barca
4
if we have all arzentina team like pastore ,di maria(we already have zaba aguero tevez),that might be another reason.he may be wishing for playing with arzentina team combined so it would be a practice for next world cup which he wants the most.

Until Messis Argentina form improves I would not spend £100mil. He is the best in the world when playing in the best system in the workd.

He was raised in Spain mate. To the Argentinians he's like a foreigner.

Messi would never leave Barca
We would never pay his buyout clause (€250m allegedly)
