not really, i asked him when hes back on sky he just laughed and said hes not been asked and he loves fighting our corner.

Great bloke and a City legend from my favourite City days back in the late 60s/early 70s.

But I'll never forget how he blanked me when I suggested he started serving at the ticket office while he was hanging around chatting with fans while we waited for ages to get served and most of the windows were shut.

Ha Ha. Has Buzzer solved the great chip theft mystery? He looks like a 70's Private Detective whose got his man......................'The Stomach' finally nabbed.
 
I bumped into buzzer at manchester airport a few years ago , top bloke , Keegan was manager at the time , and he said we would be top 6 club in next few years . Probably the best right winger i have seen in a blue shirt , although david white in his prime , was a close contender.
 
I bought a Jeep Cherokee from Kings at Old Trafford in 1994 and when it went in for its first service I was told to just go and get something to eat or have a
wander round as it'd be ready in an hour or so.

I went back an hour later was told it hadn't been done as a certain Mr. Sumerbee had been in and kicked off saying that he wanted his car seeing to there and then as yesterday he was told that there was nothing in the diary for that morning.

The salesman apologised and said that if I wanted to go and tell Mr Sumerbee he wasn't having his way I was free to do so.

Never forgiven Buzzer for that - I'm uncomfortable around there and didn't need another hour in the shadow of that shit hole.
 
I was fortunate enough to go to South Africa a few years ago and by chance stayed in the same hotel as the team. One evening I noticed Mr. Summerbee and Gary Cook in reception with Mr. Cook on his mobile. Little did I know the Adebayor signing was taking place (it was announced on SKY 20 mins later) and they were both very pre-occupied. I asked Mr Sumerbee to sign my young son's shirt who was next door in the bar area. He obliged but was obviously distracted and I could tell he was a bit distant.

The next morning at breakfast I went to get my food and left my son at the table. When I returned Mike Summerbee was sat with him at his table asking him all about City and how long he had supported them.

This was way over and above the call of duty and was the mark of a true gentleman and Blue.

What a chap!
 
Remember Mike Summerbee scoring a brilliant goal against Leeds in the 70's, and Leeds was still a good side then, with Clark,Bremner,Jones ect, just cut in from the wing and held off a couple of Leeds defenders and bang it in, truly a fantastic goal that I saw that day, and we did win 2-0 I think, I watched from the Platt Lane and it was a great game...........
