metrolink double units

They need to go to London and ask how they sort the tubes out after the game at somewhere like arsenal or West Ham. Tube after tube waiting to take people away. Can't be that hard to arrange
No it isn't.
Sadly they couldn't run a pish up in a brewery.

Afterwards went in City Square to let queues die down for about 40 mins. Walked down to the platform and next tram (another double) was 23 minutes. Was chatting to the Metrolink woman who said they'd arrived every few minutes up until we turned up.
Unlucky. All the extra trams that wait on the loop had gone, and one of the trams from Ashton was 10 minutes late (the next only 2 mins behind).

Trams were good yesterday for the christmas shopping. I think it was only a coincidence that City had a match on so we all benefited!

If the double units were for Christmas shopping then I take it that all routes had more trams in service. Metrolink have the stock to double up on matchdays, hope someone at City picks up on this and puts a word in for the supporters who put bums on seats at the Etihad.
Next season attendances should go to 50k plus so now is the time for City to speak up on this.

is there a reason why they can not build a train station on that track that goes right passed the etihad?
i know ashburys isnt far but its still a 20 minute walk also the old Park station....is that closer than ashburys?

Plus put the track back on the viaduct that took the line to Ardwick Jun then a match day shuttle could run from Picc to Vic. If the Etihad goes to a 60k capacity it would be worth the cost.

The trams in Manchester are useless anyway.

It's cheaper for me my brother and my dad to drive to the game and pay for parking - we also don't have the inconvenience of having to be squashed onto a sweaty carriage with someone's armpit on your face.

If the Trams were cheap I'd use them more often, but they are constantly overcrowded, there aren't as many stops and lines as there could be, it's slow because it's overground and on most routes is affected by traffic, they don't come frequently enough and as a poster above mentioned, there isn't any staff on stops to help with queries or problems people may have.

Once Manchester becomes a semi-autonomous region, when we get a mayor, the first thing they should do is expand public transport systems and drastically reduce the price, even if it has to be ran at a loss for the first few years.

Yeah, the reason being that there is already one there.

Though given the fact it took years to be put in place, I can see why you gave up checking up on it's progress.

What? No idea where you're thinking of, but it's not what goatinho and dawlish dave were talking about.
