When we host the 2045 (year not time) Champions League Final we'll have a monorail and a canal barge service - metrolink will be long closed, having never even opened

a sky-train, what a brilliant idea, though we would probably mess that up even more than the trams.

It would probably be delayed due to it being ''the wrong type of cloud'' on the lines.....

The East Manchester Line starts at Picadilly gardens and will eventually run to Ashton

I would have thought you'd have to change at Picadilly Gardens, but I don't really know

the amount of disruption this bollocks has caused for blues travelling from ashton to coms ,some games a couple of seasons ago took 1 hour plus after games to get back to a u l. been told by a bloke who sometimes travels back on the 216 that the cost is going to be £ 11 ,ashton- coms- return, don't believe that myself but he swears blind thats how much it is gonna cost,i'll stick with stagecoach dayrider £3.90 if true

I doubt it pal, Bury to Manchester return is currently £5.60 peak and that will be the biggest Metrolink fare for a return journey

Maximum off peak return fare from any two destinations is £4.50 as far as I can tell, and you can get a daysaver for that.

Everyone who has been in charge of this abortion should be rounded up & beheaded...

none of them could give a toss, none of them have had to travel on a bus along the route in the last few years, especially on a busy matchday

-- Thu Dec 06, 2012 9:32 pm --

hope you're both right, cant see it being 11 quid

Here's a few facts for you guys:

The current fare for Bury to Altrincham is £4.50 off peak return (off-peak is buying a ticket anytime after 9.30am). Bury to the Etihad stop will be less than this.

Two of the lines that currently terminate at Piccadilly will become through services to Droylsden when then new line opens. This will be two from the Bury, Altrincham and Eccles services.

The trams will run every six minutes to the stadium (though this may be less frequent when the line first opens).

When there's enough demand, there are planned to be special trams laid on for match days which can turn around just next to the Asda.

Hope this helps.

They'll do will to match the dortmond trains. 60,000+ crowd and I was back in central dortmond 25 mins after the final whistle. and it was free
