Micah Richards the pundit

Looks like some here are already tearing one of our own down. Wondering how long it would take before they decide to tear Vinny down!
Bluemoon mate.

This is the same Bluemoon on which a number of "supporter's" said they didn't want Lionel Messi.

Best skipping past these ones....

Any of them start on Vincent Kompany and they’d better go into witness protection immediately!!! No one who has ever seen Eccles Blue in one of her rare temper losses has ever forgotten it! The GM of a very large building company is still telling his employees to make sure that I always get what I need at the time I want!
So don’t even joke about them turning on Captain Courageous, Captain Marvellous because I’m ready.
I am a placid person but like most quiet placid ones heaven help them when I erupt!!

JMHO :-) ;-)

The thing is, pundits get the big jobs for the big Prem games based on who they played for.

Micah’s not a good pundit, but almost none of them are who work on Prem games.

There’s two excellent pundits at Sky (out of all that they have): Greame Sounness and Liam Rosenior who is the best pundit out there full stop for any channel.

But Rosenior will never get the gig Micah has got because he played for Bristol Fulham Torquay Reading Ipswich Hull and Brighton, despite being better at the job description than anyone else at Sky.

We do not need and should not have an ex-City player on the pundit panel just because we think we should have one because we are a big club and we need someone sticking up for us just be cause there’s loads of them sticking up for United and Liverpool. It’s all about quality of the words that come out of someone’s mouth, not whether they played for United Liverpool or City.

The best pundits may very well be a full list of Liam Roseniors. People who may have played for League 1 to Championship clubs but who know the game inside out, can talk with correct grammar and articulate points clearly so that even complex tactical insight can be understood by the viewers at home.

It’s 2020 now, we need to move away from the celebrity pundits.

What you're suggesting is something that takes place in ideal world where everyone acts fair and honestly but we don't live in ideal world. Agendas are set and supported according to the interest of the club pundit is from. In such a scenario, we absolutely need city's representation to present our point of view.

Micah will learn with time but i think he has had a good start and will continue to improve further. We should support him. Some representation is better than nothing at all.

Great post, spot on.

Micah has been a breath of fresh air as a pundit. Knowledgeable, charismatic, loves City... what’s not to like? Great to see him making such a success of his new career.
I think he’s surprised plenty by how articulate he actually is, a million miles from that plank Ashley Cole the other day who could barely string a sentence.

You want to hear black people talk about the problems with racism, then listen to Michael Holding and Ebony Rainford-Brent talk about it on the cricket commentary! That is a more personal and moving punditry! It is a real problem and people with the platform to use it, should be using it... I’m afraid Micah didn’t do that, at one point he said white people feel as though they’re being tarnished with the racist brush and then went on to talk about how privileged he was to work at Sky. That is not taking advantage of your privilege to make your point on racism! I’m sorry Micah, I love your enthusiasm, but please be strong against abhorrent racism, when you have the platform to do it!l

Shit pundit and painful to listen to! On the racism issue, he rambled and didn’t speak particularly well! Love his enthusiasm and his smile is infectious, but he’s a shit pundit!

Don't know anyone who shares your view Bernie lad. He's proven himself to be articulate and speaks with authority and adds humour and humility too. He's been brilliant in my eyes and a long overdue rep for us on that platform, with the fairness of Neville as opposed to the abject bias of Carragher.

Michael Holding's statement on racism was stunning , and very emotional.

I agree Bernard. I found it painful to listen to Micah on this. He rambled on and on without using the opportunity to make a real mark. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say I think he just needed to stop and think before he spoke. I have heard Michael Holding talk about it and as someone else has said that was very emotional and really had an impact. But then Michael Holding is much more experienced than Micah.

Micah is not the best and more like a fan than a pundit but he is a million times better than the nothing/zero blue representation we have suffered for years. Vinny always speaks very well through the Flem but after listening to his podcast, Nedum Onuoha is the man. If El presidenti Trump deports him from Mormonville he would be fantastic as a pundit, articulate, intelligent and a dyed in the wool Blue.
