I was really pleased when Hodgson got the job but his squad selection leaves a hell of a lot of questions. The main one being why, if as everyone suspects he didn't pick Ferdinand because of the Terry situation, did he pick Terry? Terry should not be in the England squad until the court situation is sorted out. I have a great regard for innocent until proven guilty (as I have stated in the Johnson thread) but this case has gone on for far too long and until it is finished Terry and Ferdinand should either both be picked or neither be picked.

As for ignoring Micah and choosing almost a quarter of his squad from a team who only managed 8th in the Premiership the man is unbelievable, absolutely unbelievable.

I can see him going for 3 of the Chelsea back 4 for Englands defence, as they are a formidable unit. Cahills injury however has opened up the worm cam. I'm surprised at Woy's replacement- but I still have faith that he'll get a strong performance from the squad he's picked.We haven't got the pool of players that we need-but we may have the most organised team since Sir Alf.

3 of Chelsea's back 4 a formidable unit? you must be having a laugh mate. Chelsea conceded the same amount of goals as Sunderland in the league and finished 6th. I personally think the Chelsea defense is gash and only seem to keep a clean sheet when playing with 10 men behind the ball and riding their luck. TBF though the way England play it might be our best option.

On another note who's stupid braindead decision was it to come up with a standby list surely thats a slap in the face to players, its basically saying your not good enough but we might need you in case someone gets injured. Why couldn't they just pick the team and if someone gets injured just call them up. Look at it from Micah's point of view if Walker was fit then Richards would not of even made the stand by squad when he is twice the player of that shit overrated Glen Johnson. So i do not blame him for telling the F.A where to go.

If Henderson, Kelly, Carroll and Jones are the future of English football then it is safe to say that we can expect Scotland and Ireland to be better than us in a few year because the Liverpool players in the team apart for Gerrard should not be playing in the premier league never mind an international tournamnet.
