Sadly the very nature of life itself means people come and go, we're all mortal. Personally, I only truly care if it's a relative or a friend of mine, otherwise you just accept that shit happens. People who mourn the deaths of celebrities are mentalists.

Is it that people are mourning alone , or refusing to stand by whilst others accuse ?
I don't think you can throw a blanket statement on the Michael Jackson story . I've certainly not shed tears , but I admit I'm a bit disgruntled at his passing .
Music is not a celebrity , and thankfully remains for those who choose to embrace it , be it Jackson or agga flamin doo .

I'll mourn the death when god forbid the day comes when Bell, Lee, Summerbee and Kinkladze all pass on, i don't think that makes me a mentalist it's just that certain people are a huge part of people's lives. Just like Jackson was to millions and millions of people.

Obviously those who fall about, pretend to faint and start going ballistic as we have seen last few days are indeed mentalists!

while stuffing those uneducated opinions down peoples throats is pathetic at best , and mind bogglingly typical of what's wrong with the world at worst .

a slight overstatement perhaps, but that's the way most of us feel after one of bb2.0's threads :P

lol .
To be fair though , it's not necessarily directed towards BB2.0 as it is towards all the monkeys who've been swinging in the wacko tree .

If you want to talk double standards, let's see the reaction when Gary Glitter snuffs it.
Gary Glitter was convicted of acts against minors. Jackson was not.
Michael Jackson was a talented musician. Glitter was not.

There's your difference.

The only difference was glitter wasnt rich enough to pay off the childs family, jackson was.

But hey ho, it doesnt matter as jackon was a musical genius so we should all overlook such trivial things.

Maybe we should find out if ian huntley was a talented caretaker so we can release him from broadmoor?

You must have missed that 6 month court case a few years ago. No families paid off there.

FFS He was a child abuser. Messing with little children, and before any official history blinker boys jump on me, ask yerself this question, "why the fu*k would anyone put censors on his bedroom door, when he was entertaining shall we say"(for the pc brigade), so he knew when people were getting close to his room, and not just one on his door, he had em put on every door from about 2 floors below him, so he really knew when someone was approaching, he was a fkcing beast, end of.

Back any allegation up with evidence or remain a naive prat in the eyes of the majority .

Well said mate he's just a prick

You're the prick. Slagging off fellow Blues because they don't agre with your views on Wacko

some people need to sort there double standards out. yes jacko may have been just another person but so was foe, yet its ok to be saddened about an average footballer but not about an icon? dont get me wrong i was gutted about foe and i am about jacko just some of the midless idiots on this thread have annoyed me.

1) Foe played for a club I love dearly and died suddenly. It touched me more than Jacko because I personally care more about this football club than I do about any musician, particularly one that never did it for me. (you are right though he was average at best in his season with us)

The differences between Foe and Jacko are this.

1) Foe's story dominated the news for a day or two, we remember him rightly on this site because when he died he was an MCFC player. I object to the Jacko story being rammed down our throat and almost made to feel guilty because I don't give two shits.

2) The BBC news was AGAIN dominated by the story tonight, he was a big pop start 20 odd years ago-FFS.

3)MVF did not share beds with young boys.

If you want to talk double standards, let's see the reaction when Gary Glitter snuffs it.

Glitter is a convicted paedophile with a recurring hunger and history .

There are different types of people involved in these types of discussions .

1 - People who grew up with Jacksons music , adored him , believed in him , and accept that there has to be a little faith in the declaration of not guilty from the legal bodies .

2 - People who loved his music , but are prepared to be swayed by speculations surrounding him .
3 - People who couldn't care for , or know not about his music , yet believe in the legal system .
4 - People who didn't care for his music , and are prepared to be swayed by speculation .

5 - People who couldn't care about any of it , and keep their opinions to themselves .

6 - People who couldn't care about any of it , but like an argument , and any argument will do .
7 - And so on .

The facts are that he is a musical icon , surpassing five decades , and an enormous charity donator , who has done more for kids , and anyone else who needed help , than any other artist , footballer , you name it , than anyone I know of .
He has brought joy to millions , and isn't simply a footballer who unfortunately passed by .

Everyone in the world and his dog knows who Jackson was .
Noone outside of being a football fan will have a clue who Foe was .

If people wish to mourn either , then that is their right , but to cling on to utter bollox rumours and have zilch knowledge of anything surrounding the case , while stuffing those uneducated opinions down peoples throats is pathetic at best , and mind bogglingly typical of what's wrong with the world at worst .

F@ck me, are you a lookie likie or tribute act? i honestly don't know how you could be so interested in MJ, he was well passed his sell by date, and didn't one of the Jury try and top themselves with guilt when he was found not guilty? Yes MJ had some catchy tunes, and was a megastar but would you let your children go to neverland for a sleepover??? Would you f@ck. Now getover it and go stick some Lionel Richie on.
