fook me, theres a lot of cockyness in them eyes, and the rye smiles, i reckon its more to do with the fact he hiding some depression by fronting arrogance and a ''dont give a fuck'' attitude. if you ask me he looks embarrased with what hes let happen. somebody needs to grab hold of him and drag him out of this phase....he needs to be assigned a personal trainer sharpish....but he needs to assign it himself....so its a self inflicted step in his rehab

he looks like hes aged a lot in the past year......in fact, it looks like hes been drinking hard for about 10 years nevermind one......

sad to see but in a way this could be a situation where you reach the bottom of the pit and turn your life around for the better....just hope he has the drive and motivation to do it

Hope he can get fit and get playing again because he's a big big prospect. He just needs to take a leaf outta stevies book!

He will be back just will take him time. He has put weight on but he will as he isnt playing or training. He has had his problems, had help and he will come good. He does look cockey but thats his personality he is very confident and when fit and playing that contributes to his game.

Manchester City's Michael Johnson Determined To Prove Himself To Mark Hughes
The young midfielder wants to prove to his gaffer that the potential to become a great player is still there, after a frustrating campaign last season...
26 Jun 2009 18:18:13

Manchester City midfielder Michael Johnson has affirmed that he is perfectly happy at Eastlands, and is determined to show his manager Mark Hughes that he is worthy of a first team place, despite the host of star names who are beginning to arrive in the blue half of Manchester.

The player suffered a pelvic injury last year that ensured he was kept out of action for eight months, but he is now keen to reassert his place in his manager's plans, after making a positive impression at the club under the management of Hughes's predecessor Sven Goran Eriksson.

"I've not actually spoken to him yet, because it's the off-season" he told Sky Sports News. "But that's what he'll expect.

"And that's what he's going to get."

The player had been linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent months, but he claims now that the only focus of his professional thoughts is on re-establishing a place in the Citizens' line-up.

"I don't want to go anywhere, " he stated. "Look at the signings [at City]. They want to challenge the top four, which is what I expect us to do.

"That's why I want to be here. When any new players come in you have to prove that you're better than them."

If this lad got his head straight he could still be a great asset to our team, its great to be linked to all the superstars but none of them will have the emotional link to the club than one of our own.

Is he being transferred then?
