Michael Oliver to ref Liverpool v City - City lodge complaint

So Old Mother Riley is gonna maintain the 'sparing' use of the pitchside monitor. Sparing? Does anyone know if the fuckin' thing has been used at all, anywhere in the PL. The system should be 1 Handball in the area that the ref has missed, 2 VAR alerts the ref, 3 Ref goes and sees what he's missed 4 If it's a pen in the area The Dippers are attacking it's a pen, if it's MCFC it's an indirect free kick for opposition and a booking for dissent (several City players threw up their arms anticipating ref pointing to the spot).

It doesn't really matter what Riley comes up with because the misuse of VAR this season has confirmed for me that their integrity is still the most questionable aspect of what goes on during a game.

Monitor was never used as far a I know.

Tongue in cheek but maybe next time it happens at Klanfield Pep should just take the lads off the pitch and not return. We'll forfeit the points but then we never stood a chance in the first place and we'll at least make a statement about Var and the officials.

If we put most of our chances away, VAR won't effect us
Which is what we did in the second half of last season.

The ref's have stepped up their game this season (disparity in the application on the LOTG, getting in the way of the outlet ball, slowing down the play and generally not letting us get into a rhythm), plus now they've got the extra layer of f*ckery called VAR.

We stand no chance.

The club seem to have gently quietly acquiesced and not even mentioned anything from being done over in the CL semi-final to the ludicrously bent decisions we seem to be getting against us week in week out, sometimes it's as if the club has signed up for the rotating club win scenario that Scudamore subscribed to.

My personal theory is that Oliver simply bottled it. He's thinking it should be a penalty, but if he gives it he'll need a police escort. While he's pondering that, Candlewick score within 21 seconds, now he really is about to ruin his best underpants. He consults VAR,"Up to you mate, mind you, if you rule out the goal AND award City a penalty, then you'll need an SWAT escort when 50,000 Morlocks start chasing you".

Intention is one of the determining factors, as is the distance between where the ball comes from and where it hits. i.e. Could the player reasonably have moved his arm out of the way? I think it was a penalty, but you could make an argument that it wasn't for both of these reasons. It definitely would have been given in the Champions League though, which is another one of the bullshit inconsistencies we have to deal with.
Look where his hand is .its open and moving towards the ball it's not as if his fist was clenched or anything

Funny but I have noticed this myself this season. They have upped their game. Var and some of the shocking decisions are bad enough but it goes deeper. They seem to be getting in the way of our attacks on a regular basis, just enough to slow them down and disrupt them. Teams are allowed to waste time, kick and tactically foul us with almost impunity and the first time we do so we are booked. The time wasted is never accurately added on. It is pure gamesmanship by the officials and Mason's shocking performance against Southampton was a perfect example.

We have been denied clear penalties in at least four games. Bournemouth, Spur's, Palace and Liverpool. Two of those games has cost us at least two points, possibly more as we may have drawn or won at Anfield. Add on the very fortuitous decisions going the vermin's way down the east Lancs road and you can see where the title is going this season.

Add this to the Mane dive against Leicester and you have at least 2 possibly 4/6 points they shouldn't have right now. The problem is, there arn't any refs who are mentally strong enough to give the correct decisions.
