Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

We need the equivalent of the Berlin Airlift. Cyprus is a good base for it. Britain and the EU should organise it forthwith. Israel would be unlikely to shoot down food carriers.
They attacked an aid ship with drones just last week. The attack took place in European waters and unsurprisingly was met with complete silence by the Nazi princess and her babbling psychopath of a 'foreign minister'. So good luck with that.

As for using Cyprus as a base to deliver aid to Gaza, that has been happening since October 2023 ... only it is of the lethal variety.

No, it's deliberate and entirely engineered.

"According to Gaza’s Government Media Office, over 70,000 children are now hospitalized with acute malnutrition, and 1.1 million lack the daily minimum nutritional requirements for survival.

The Palestinian Health Ministry in Gaza reported that, as of May 5, at least 57 children have already died from malnutrition-related health complications since the start of the war, and another 3,500 under the age of five face imminent risk of death from starvation."

I agree, however I was referring to European governments in general.
There should be sanctions at this stage and the sale of arms to Israel is unconscionable.

Beauty and the beast - she got both lead roles

What can one say, she’s been rolled out for her influence and, even before she opens her mouth, they’ve determined that she’s an absolute ****!

Israel has decided that they can say what they want, they’ve just realised that nobody is believing it.

And the world powers just overt their eyes.

Why would our government send food?
They are complicit with the murderous regime otherwise known as Israel.
They are going to court today to say they are above the law, that they do not need to abide by our own and international laws. No prizes for guessing which country they are illegally supplying weapons to.

I was thinking that there would be a big PR effort with clear plans and objectives published ab initio. An international effort like this would make a difference.
Just saying it can’t be done is a policy of despair. Half a million people including a million children are in the final throes of starvation.
Netanyahu is a criminal and we cannot stand idly by or we are complicit in this crime.

Surprised raffi berg has allowed this headline in this article. Israel has bombed another hospital today

"Israeli warplanes dropped six bombs simultaneously on the Gaza hospital, hitting both its inner courtyard and surrounding area, according to local sources.

Eyewitnesses said Israeli drones maintained a tight aerial siege over the building, preventing rescue teams from reaching the site."

"In his former life as a human rights lawyer Keir Starmer was himself arguing in front of the International Court of Justice in 2014 that genocide had been committed by Serbia against Croatia between 91 and 95 and he described in his own words and I quote a sustained campaign of shelling, systematic expulsion, denial of food, water, electricity, sanitation and medical treatment , bombing, burning, brutal killings and torture which reduced buildings to rubble and destroyed its population."

"Britain keeps on saying that it has a security, cooperation arrangement with Israel they refuse to answer questions from me and from others as to what the Royal Air Force base at Akrotiri is being used for - why there are so many hundreds of flights taking off from it, what are they carrying, where are they going, why are they happening - they won't answer those questions. Starmer went there and rather bizarrely said "There's lots going on here I'm not able to talk to you about." Well if he's not able to talk to us about it then I think it's time that he was in front of a court where he'd be forced to answer those those questions"

Gary Linekar received and then shared a video on twitter.
The video was in support of Palestine. As part of the video, in some small corner was a picture of a rat. It seems that is antisemitic as the nazis used it as a term for Jews.
Lineker denied seeing it or knowing the significance of the rat.
The pile on has begun, the Board of Deputies of British Jews have demanded Lineker is sacked by the BBC.

If only he'd shot a UN worker or murdered a child ...........

none of it matters - for now. Israel has generated a whole world of hate against itself. Across the Arab world I'd expect the product of what they are doing is inspiring a force way larger than Hamas ever was made up of young men who have been angered by Israeli actions. They are making their citizens, indeed Jews across the world, targets. And there is a cohort of youngsters in education across of the world many of whom will be the political leaders and influencers of the future rise up against Israeli actions which is why they are getting their puppets in the west to send in Police and paramilitary forces to crack skulls because in their own country thats the only language they know.

It won't work and down the line there will be consequences - it won't bother Netanyahu because if nothing else his state will protect him - won't bother Trump because he will be dead - won't bother Macron because he is calling it out as it is - Starmer ( and others ) are rather foolishly being the ones putting themselves in the firing line and at 62 he could have another 30 years of life left to face under constant threat of prosecution.

Fucking hell mate, do you know anything about Jewish history? You are warning the Jews that they may be persecuted in the future? That will be rather novel for them.

I read it differently. I read it that the actions of Israel are breeding a new 'terrorist' threat. Some violent some educated but none if it will help bring peace.
If Israel genuinely wanted a peaceful solution they would not be committing the atrocities they are.

Let's be fair. Both sides don't want a peaceful solution, that's the problem that all the skilled diplomats have failed to solve. Have Israel gone much, much, much too far, Yes. Would Palestine have done the same to Israel, given the chance? Yes. That's the problem.
