Twenty odd kids have been killed in a Tehran residential building today, it's almost as if the IDF adhere to a pattern.

Let's see how far Starmer et al go with this "intervention".

Our governments turn a blind eye to israel stealing from us and continue to act in the best interests of israel because they are bribed by israel

Not saying any of this is wrong but has Israel ever tested a nuclear weapon? I’m not a nuclear scientist but that sort of feels like a prerequisite to having an effective weapon.

I don't think he's said anything about protecting Israel on this occasion - happy to be shown otherwise but seems like he's been very deliberate in his wording and has avoided saying exactly that. They are moving the jets to our own military bases in the middle-east because Iran directly threatened the UK. The government released a statement earlier today saying they haven't provided any military assistance to Israel (so far). Obviously, whether they will if things continue remains to be seen.


Personally, I can't see us getting directly involved in this unless we're dragged into it.

I get that people are upset at the government's lack of action to stop Israel, and I agree with the sentiment, but we should keep it factual. Whatever Israel is doing right now, we haven't stopped them getting hit in return.

I suppose if you are not a signatory to treaties and not subject to inspections you don't have to declare tests.

Bit of theme developing when it comes to operating outside the norms.
 
I'm no fan of Israel (and their actions in Gaza have been massively disproportionate with scant regard paid to the obliteration of civilians) but in this instance they are doing the world a favour. Iran is a massive destabilising regime, as responsible for the plight of the Palestinians as Israel is via its funding of Hamas and Hizbollah which essentially gave Israel and its psycho leader Netanyahu the pretext to flatten Gaza.

Iran getting nukes is unthinkable - nukes are used as a deterrent but if you let religious zealots who actively seek death as a way to martyr themselves and go to a 'better place' get them then you're in a world of trouble. Iran wouldn't hesitate to use nukes.

Iran does represent an existential threat to Israel and basically when you discover a wasps nest in your garden you get rid of it.

This won't be over quickly - Israel will do what it takes to bring down the Iranian regime regardless of the human cost and Iran will respond by undertaking atrocities against Jewish targets in other countries as in reality they are fucked militarily now unless Israel was stupid enough to undertake a land invasion (which it wouldn't as it would have to go through Iraq first). So they'll bomb the fuck out of Iran.

A very well balanced and considered post.

Both horrible regimes but the notion of nukes being in the hands of people who uphold martyrdom can’t logically be a good idea.

It’s simply not rational to think that can’t possibly go wrong.
