I agree and the problem is that in taking out the Iran threat it is likely to increase tensions and radicalisation against the west

Yeh it's difficult. They've only be readying a nuclear weapon for the last forty years, but at least these actions haven't dragged us closer to the precipice.

I’m with you on this. I’d really hoped the US didn’t do this and was heartened when Scaramucci said only 2 days ago that Trump only does what MAGA want and they are dead set against it.

But - and it is a big but - if the reports that Iran has a stockpile of 60% enriched Uranium, there is no civilian use for such material. Enriching to 60% is only for weapons use, and I agree with you that Iran having a nuclear bomb would be unthinkable.

I can’t help thinking though that a diplomatic solution would have been far, far better. I am not even sure the US have destroyed Iran’s bomb-making capabilities. The facilities were apparently deep underground and those big ground penetrating bombs the US dropped, only penetrate so far.

It’s a race against time between such lunatics and AI super intelligences as to which will end the human race first. My money’s on AI beating the loons to it.

What would be helpful is more information and analysis from the IAEA given they are the independent monitors
 
Iranian Foriegn Minister on telly now saying why bother going back fo talks and diplomacy as when they were in talks in turkey, Israel attakced and while they returned to talk to Europe the US has attakcked so talking doesn't work as they have crossed a red line

Called the US disrespectful to international law and the UN

Agreed, except I’m sceptical over reports Iran has a stockpile of 60% enriched uranium. We’ve seen this show before with Iraq and WMD. We used to have an agreement with Iran which Trump binned. We finally get Iran back at the negotiating table and our response is to…bomb them?

I also figured the opinion of his base would keep him in check. Turns out I was way off. As for Starmer backing the lunatic - I know politics and diplomacy is a dirty game, but have some fucking self-respect.
 
Interesting our government are going down the Iranian influence and plots in the UK being a reason and not the Israel/US nuclear safety option, especially when bo evidence of a nuclear weapon can be proved.
 
Bringing kids into this toxic world just got more challenging.

With hundreds of illegal arrivals already potentially radicalised, certainly traumatised we have ltd ability to manage our own shores let alone influence trump, israel etc.

My initial child like excitement re Trumps typical macho response lasted a few seconds and certainly not as long as the legacy of fear and anger he and the lunatics running Israel and Iran bestow upon us all.

Iran and Israel could have annihilated each other with nuclear weapons. Even a global nuclear bombardment might let some people survive. Perhaps.

I think the 2 biggest dangers to our survival are...
1. A man-made virus or other biological weapon.
2. AI not being developed responsibly and given access to weapons.

I would think that the likihood of these are increased by global tension and poor political leadership.

We need to enjoy our times now because we are powerless to prevent anything realistically.

Personally, I'd put all resources towards social efforts that allow kids to thrive and be happy, that supports people who need help and basically leaves no people behind. We should look after each other in small communities and invite more people into the comfortable circle that most of us live in.

But can we afford to do this? Probably not. Probably the circle will shrink and those on the outside will be enraged and become threats and our lives will be filled with fear and heartlessness. Like the Israelis it seems these days.

This is the result of the bullshit you have been fed through the media. This is the narrative that is used to ensure the hegemony of Israel in the Middle East and therefore the control of oil resources by the USA and the West.
The Iranians are as rational as anybody, probably more so. The fact that they oppose Israel doesn't make them irrational or bad.
Just ask yourself, why Israel, who itself holds illegal undeclared nuclear weapons and has been conducting a genocide, not least by starving a population, has not been condemned by the West for launching an unprovoked war on a country that is declared by the IAEA and the US's own intelligence community to be not conducting a nuclear weapons programme.
This war is to try to change the government of a country, the last country in the region that is prepared to oppose Israeli and Western hegemony.
This is the reason they are being attacked, not because they might be making a nuclear bomb which everyone knows to be bullshit.
This will be bigger than you think.
An increase in terrorism is going to be the least of your worries.
