Middle East Conflict | Netanyahu orders strikes on Gaza (p1161)

A place so aggressive and racist that it welcomes those fleeing war, houses them and feeds them and then gives them another life?

A place so aggressive and racist that the fastest growing populations within it are these supposed oppressed?

It's sad to be so blinded by the politics of a relative minority that it causes you to hate your own home. Whatever Europe is or isn't, it's home, and unlike elsewhere it keeps you safe and it even allows you to post on this forum without fear of persecution or death.
It hardly welcoming them when they have to risk their lives on dinghies to get to a place that's tried it's level best to ship them all off to Rwanda against their will.

How very dare you - it costed £1.8m per person to send 4 VOLUNTEERS to Rwanda and as volunteers it was clearly their will - oh I think they got £3k each to make the trip.

Like many you seem to confuse our rather excellent policy at home with our appalling record overseas. The two things often linked by the way .
We are despots, imperialists, oppressors and exploiters to and of the most impoverished nations on Earth.
Human life isn't worth a fucking bean unless it's white and Western to these racist governments.

It was always thus but now the mask is truly off.

People in wealthy european countries possess admirable morals and compassion. And it's also true, the governments(or the power structure) do a lot of bad things.

A two state solution is something I always believed in, but although I agree with Professor Sachs on so much of his logic and analysis, I increasingly, maybe pessimistically cannnot see it being allowed happen.
I cannot see the dismantling of the apartheid Israel state and an inclusive secular state for all replacing it, either.

As long as the Jewish lobby in America runs America you can only see misery in the region which unfortunately is going to spread and affect the whole world.

Quite pessimistic I know, but perhaps realistic?

Pretty disgusting what has been going on from the likes of Hamas, IDF, Hezbollah, Iran and the USA, do we, as European nations, have any impact on the world stage nowadays? I’m not sure we do.
Probably not. I am sick of seeing them pat each other on the back for doing fuck all apart from offering up lip service.

The world is controlled by some nasty pieces of shit.

Most of us either fall in line and do as we are told or even worse defend the atrocities carried out over and over again. Let’s not pretend we have any voice. If we did Gaza or Ukraine would not have happened.

There will always be an excuse to murder innocents.

I have lived through a war in N Ireland and I have seen first hand the abuse carried out by the government of the day on all sides. The inconvenient truth is that war is and never will be a solution to man made problems. All we do is kill and destroy each other. Families here still struggle to come to terms with the sheer volume of pain and loss inflicted during the troubles.

Anyone who has lived through a war knows the poor and innocent is seen as collateral damage. It’s a damn shame this is always seen as a solution. Humans eh?

On June 22 local time, prior to the United Nations Security Council's emergency meeting regarding the U.S. attack on Iranian nuclear facilities, China's Permanent Representative to the UN, Fu Cong, spoke to reporters and once again condemned the U.S. strike.

Fu emphasized that these nuclear facilities were under the safeguards and supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). He stated that the U.S. action constitutes a blatant violation of the UN Charter and international law, dealing a devastating blow to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT) regime—a crucial pillar of the international order.

Furthermore, Fu pointed out that while Iran has suffered harm, the credibility of the United States itself has also been damaged—both as a nation and as a participant in any international negotiations.

There’s too many of us on the planet.
Whether it be climate change or nuclear holocaust, there’s a day of reckoning coming.

Total nonsense.

There is literal documented evidence that Iran has sought to acquire nuclear weapons and the IAEA itself has documented their enrichment goals closing on weapons grade enriched uranium. Why does Fordow exist and what does it do if this isn't the case? Why did Iran reinforce the facility to attempt to protect it days before the attack?

In the past Iran has used external IAEA monitoring as a means of bargaining to end sanctions. How can you use something that you don't have and never intended to have as a bargaining chip? For example why would I need to make a deal to promise not to shoot somebody if I don't have a gun and don't plan to get a gun to shoot somebody?

I read your reference.

You do know that those documents referred to by Isis (the science institute, not the terrorist group) were handed over by Israel and Mossab when they as they claimed managed to steal 6 vaults full of documents about Iran’s nuclear weapons plan right?

You do know the director of Isis himself (David Albright) suggested that Iran abandoned plans for building nuclear, let alone weapons, were too risky for Iran given how Iraq has been attacked by US despite not having WMDs right?

You do know that David Albright himself announced in a press conference during the Iraq invasion that there was contradiction of any WMDs right?

Without either of those two interventions the global population is set to collapse from the middle of this century onwards. Unless something completely unpredictable happens with birth rates, it’s statistically inevitable. The logistical and practical issues it will throw up will be mind blowing, although have to be in the best interests of the planet.

Indeed.

The birth rate is dropping partly through economics (people can't afford to have children, or a suitable home in which to raise them) and partly because too much of the world is just a place so nasty and run by such nasty people that you wouldn't want to bring kids into it. Other factors are available.

Please do me a favour. The assessment is based upon actual IAEA findings. Such evidence never existed for Iraq whereas the IAEA has documentary evidence that Iran possesses almost weapons grade fissile material which has no other purpose.

It says that Iran holds almost 120kg of 60% enriched U-235 and 400kg enriched to 20%. Nuclear fuel is not enriched beyond 4% so what are they doing with this material given its production comes at great expense?

37. The Agency has lost continuity of knowledge in relation to the production and current inventory of centrifuges, rotors and bellows, heavy water and UOC, which it will not be able to restore as a result of not having been able to perform JCPOA-related verification and monitoring activities for four years.

38. Iran’s decision to remove all of the Agency’s equipment previously installed in Iran for JCPOA-related surveillance and monitoring activities has also had detrimental implications for the Agency’s ability to provide assurance of the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear programme.

39. It has also been four years since Iran stopped provisionally applying its Additional Protocol. Therefore, throughout this period, Iran has not provided updated declarations and the Agency has not been able to conduct complementary access to any sites and other locations in Iran.

40. The significantly increased production and accumulation of high enriched uranium by Iran, the only non-nuclear weapon State to produce such nuclear material, is of serious concern.
