The reason the Military are against his plan is simply because their war planning doesn't support it. Israel, backed by the might of the USA, traditionally fight short wars against an inferior enemy with inferior equipment. They have a small standing army with a huge reliance on mobilising reservists. So for them its like a week away from work to fight then off home. They are not built for sustained warfare and as we have seen from footage of soldiers shooting unarmed people, bulldozing houses and wearing womens lace underwear they are not always the most professional of mobs. Due to the duration of the war they have reservists on longer rotations who have been there 4,5 even 6 times. Thats not the vision that they were sold. Meanwhile hostages are still held and missiles still come over Tel Aviv. Also when they travel abroad they cannot fail to see they have lost the propaganda war

I wonder what really would happen if some of the European countries just said fuck this and sent a few warships up to the Palestinian coast. Dropped a Thousand troops off to patrol the Gaza Strip to stop the mass murder.

Trying to convince the local Jewish community to advocate for Palestine will be significantly easier if they don’t feel threatened and attacked because of their race/religion/appearance.

this bears out what I said yesterday - the IDF is not set up for a prolonged war with a reliance on reservists doing ever more lengthy rotations - they are designed for a quick in and out good knows what Netanyahu is doing to his armed forces but nations all around could be waiting until the IDF is depleted and demotalised before making a move
