Badr-3 has around 300-400kg of explosive, similar to a mid-sized JDAM and Palestinian groups are known to have them although not sure if Hamas themselves have access.

Not to say that is what caused it, but rockets that can destroy a building do exist within Gaza.

Im believe the rockets that the Isrealis have identified and can be seen firing multiple times in the videos online tonight have a 5kg to 20kg warhead and are likely the 'home made' qassam ones. Would hamas have the capability to fire a 300kg to 400kg warhead multiple times as in those videos?

The fact that Israel have changed their narrative on the hospital, edited their own published info, warned the hospital they’ll bomb it, and have history of bombing hospitals probably tells me they’ve done it.

Israelis have attacked healthcare facilities over 100 times according to the UN.

I find it hard incredibly to believe that Hamas or IJ suddenly produced what would probably be its most powerful rocket ever and misfired it into a hospital.

The military guy I saw interviewed said it exploded in the air and a fragment came down on a munitions dump at the hospital.
So it’s Hamas’ fault still even if it was unintentional.

There's hundreds of reasons why this could have happened, deliberate or tragic.

On one side, there's very explosive gases in hospitals, hamas are known to use them as cover, they might be storing explosives there. So a broken missile hitting any of those could cause that sort of devastation.

On the other side, a bomb attack by Israel, even with precise targets, target could be input wrong, missile could malfunction, or they input the target they wanted because intelligence suggested a significant target.

The obvious though, is that it's a tragic event, that will have significant after effects, certainly for all involved, and most probably the wider region.

If they're using the Fajr-3 MLRS Iran sent them, yes.

Palestinian Islamic Jihad were supplied with Badr-3 and Fajr-3 MLRS by Iran. They used the former in 2021.

Since we can't confirm what rocket was used in the attack, we must also not dismiss the possibility that PIJ misfired one of their own. They DO have rockets that can cause that much damage.

Fair enough, but the videos shared on line show multiple rockets being fired. Are we supposed to believe that they were all Badr-3 ones or just a mix. They all look the same to me.

If - and I reiterate the if - this is confirmed to be a Hamas or PIJ act, either accident or a deliberate act to stop the talks in Jordan, and scupper Biden's visit, would it change anyone's opinion on anything?

I'm hoping it wasn't Israel, because it gives more chance of slowing the escalation of this.

GeoConfirmed are usually pretty accurate with this sort of stuff. They do a lot on the Ukraine/Russian Invasion. They can't tell you the why's, but they can tell you the where's.

Agreed. They’ve also posted geolocations of missiles that would have had the capability to have that kind of blast and videos by Islamic Jihad themselves showing them having those missiles.

It’s not to say that they’re correct or not but they’re at least trying to base it on evidence, and a lot of the time it’s compelling and hard to refute.

Are we content for people to die, have we seen how these things happen to innocent people?

What the fuck can we on here, on bluemoon, actually do affect any of it ?

We can chat shit about it all we want, but none of us want innocent people dying.

We can do as much about preventing this carnage, as we can to stop football fans, on a trip to watch their country, being shot dead in the street by another terrorist.
