Certainly looks that way when evidence that would be very difficult to fabricate is looked at closely.
Looking more and more like a Hamas propaganda coup that too many people were only too willing to believe because it fit in with their preconceived prejudices.

Doesn’t work like that though does it . On the Russia - Ukraine forum any attack which kills civilians is carried out by Russia even though nobody really knows who’s done it . This hospital attack which most probably was done by Israel could also have been done by Hamas of Islamic jihad to get the Arab nations involved . We will find out soon enough .

I came home from work last night to the news. The media were leading with the headline "Israeli attack on Gaza Hospital kills 500". Came on to Bluemoon and the overall conclusion was Israel has gone beyond the line you don't cross and attacked the hospital and I was disgusted by Israel's actions.

I wanted to know more, but the more I dug things didn't add up. Now what do we know; we have footage of the rocket failing and crashing from multiple angles and sources. We have morning pictures of the hospital which shows the car park has been hit. My understanding was, based on people's reaction in here and from the news reports, that Israel was bang to rights guilty.

But nobody actually knows what happened fully, so why were people so quick on here to condemn without all the facts?

It's a forum, have you only just realised that this is how things are discussed and people formulate opinions and speculate as information is released. Come on you have been around the block a few times and been on this forum for years. It happens on every contentious subject and thread, be it a VAR decision or n horrific act during a war.

I think it's more that the IDF have walked so many attacks back after originally denying them that people will always be sceptical. Hamas on the other hand will always deny everything.

I agree with you in general, but sadly, Israel has considerable form on exactly this sort of coverup. I'm not saying they are here, I've no idea, but it wouldn't be a surprise if they were.

There's also the wider truth that thousands of people have already died as a result of the assault on Gaza. I can understand why Israel has done it after the appalling pogrom, but nevertheless, they've killed and will continue to kill more than Hamas did.

So yeah, consipracy theories are bad, and driven by confirmation bias but I'm not sure that's the biggest problem in this conflict. Reality seems every bit as bad as the worst consipracies.

I think if an advisor to Netanyahu tweets that they did it, it's fairly reasonable for some people to consider that that might have been the case. But in a climate where disinformation is flying around all over the place it's hard to make sense of anything really.

For all we know, every single bit of information that’s come out so far (apart from the fact the hospital was hit and hundreds of innocent people were killed) could be false. All the videos, all the Tweets, all the rumours… from both sides could just be cobbled together bollocks to make the pointed finger bigger and stronger.

There will be radar footage that will show the truth.

These are independent geo locators who locate events based on maps. They have multiple video sources in the thread all geo located and showing the same thing. A rocket fired from Gaza breaks up and lands on the hospital.

Entirely possible that it was intercepted tho and a combination of this rocket and an anti air rocket landing in a similar location?

What about the bombing of the evacuation convoy and the school, have the same geo locators identified who carried out those attacks. Serious question as I've heard nothing more since.
