It's not what Hamas want. It's hard to say what the Gazan people want given they've not been allowed an election in nearly 20 years and Netanyahu has worked to deliberately isolate them from the Palestinian authority or anyone else who might work to represent them.

Obviously there were some Palestinian people (and Hamas) opposed to the Oslo Agreement when it was signed, but it was Israeli nationalists who derailed it entirely when they assassinated Rabin.

I don't know how the present situation will pan out. There's so many opinions on here with no one knowing exactly what the future holds in that region. My thoughts at this moment are that the concessions required for a long term peaceful solution will not be acceptable to either side.

What is the result of bombing Gaza look at all the Islamic anger look at Turkey threatening to knock on Israel’s door. Hamas has played a blinder anger Israel watch them attack Gaza and then turn the whole Islamic supporting Middle East against them

I think someone mentioned that Israel do effectively control the border, yes.

But equally Egypt wouldn't be the first country to talk a good game until the prospect of hosting thousands of refugees appears on their doorstep.
