It does seem incredibly weird. All religions are right wing, that is what they are, ultra conservative. But at the risk of being called racist, the most far right religion by far is Islam. That the left have 'jumped into bed' with a far right organisation just beggars belief.

I'm not leftwing by any stretch, but the analysis here is simple... People on the left view every relationships through an "Oppressor vs Oppressed lense. And they see themselves as virtuous for siding with the oppressed in those disputes.

Contemplating here, based on the news prior:

The same hospital, Ah-Ahli hospital was already bombed a few days earlier, specifically on Saturday, October 14 (…) which resulted in infrastructural damage.

Other hospitals have also been bombed the past days, including Al-Durra Children hospital, and the Indonesian hospital, among others.

Soon before the Ah-Ahli massacre, aircraft carried out a strike against a UNRWA-run schools, sheltering civilians, in the Al-Maghazi refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, killing 6 and wounding dozens.

At precisely 9:37pm the warning was to evacuate Al-Ahli hospital and 5 other hospitals.

Hospital bombings continued even following the news of the massacre, one of which was the European Hospital and its adjacent Emirati Field Hospital, damaging the entrances.

Other than European Hospital, the bombings also included the surrounding of Al Karama Hospital, and the Al Naser Hospital for Children, causing windows to shatter over the patients.

Hard to know where to start with this. Just for starters

1. Many religious teachings are not "right wing", however you define that.
2. I'm not sure that massacres are either right or left wing; both extremes have happily employed them in the past.
3. Not all muslims have the same opinions
4. Other religions have, at various times, supported appalling actions. The Dutch reform church supported Apartheid, if you'd like to start there.

But yeah, the unthinking alignment of "left" with Islamofascism is indeed hard to account for.

The blind conflation of the religion of Islam with murderous fascism is dumb. The latter exploits the former.
