Mike Summerbee is "fine' after being taken to hospital during the game (P4)

I was working in Wilmslow a couple of months back and saw him going to the main town centre. What struck me about him was how well he looked, so a bit of a shock this news, hope he's alright, get well soon buzzer.

Takes no shit, Mike.

Remember having to hold him back from chinning that clown Paul Nolan outside the Maine Road entrance after he once slagged Nicky off to his face.

There was hardly anyone around and Paul also told Mike he was shit in Escape to Victory!

Mike lost it at that point and I had to pull him away or he would have done serious damage.

Always a gentleman, would offer to send me to his tailor on Portland Street or sort me out with one of his bespoke, monogrammed shirts.

I didn't have the heart to tell him I was about forty years too young to wear them.

Get well soon, legend.

Very decent and likable bloke is Mike always had time for people including myself, something I always respected that in him.

I had a go once about his son's influence on a certain Mr Kinkladze or to put it correctly his bad influence, Mike looked me in the eye, said thanks for giving my opinion and said he would tell Nicholas my opinions later. Still meet Mike every game after, Mike would still give me a friendly smile, still come over and chat and never once made me feel bad.

Respect to the legend Mike Summerbee and I wish him a long and happy life.

When Buzzer lived in Timperley he used to stop at a bus stop on Altrincham Road just past Brooklands roundabout and pick up some mates of mine on his way to Maine Road. Brilliant bloke.
He lived on North Vale Road just up from the Woodlands Court. My grandparents on my dad's side lived a few doors down on the opposite side of the road.
