He actually said that whilst he feels very sad about it, but cannot longer proceed as a footballer as he is done physically. So yeah, definitely.Ha, it's definitely in a coaching role rather than as a player!

Giggs has been overlooked for the Rags job again, Mourinho will bring his own men in, let's get Giggs at City and in a coaching role and get the media publishing articles to say "Rags lose last piece of identity as Giggs switches to City" and "Mourinho sacks Giggs as he implements park the bus tactics". I guess it will be instantly spun the other way though and the BBC will say "scorer of shittest FA Cup goal who shags his brothers wife gets sacked by United as desperate City sign him for record fee"
err:Sky sources Arteta has yet to decide if he wants to join pep at city nothing imminent.

Interesting article about Arteta, generally about his time at Arsenal but gives a lot of insight into his personality and qualities. Sounds quite similar to Pep in many ways.
Yeah I do suspect we'll be following the Barcelona model of looking to promote from within where possible. We already have Arteta and Vieira, maybe even Lee Carsley as well doing a great job with the U18's, has Championship management experience already and played with Arteta at Everton. Alonso would be another obvious guy to bring into the fold if he was interested. Here's a similar one on the friendship of Arteta and Xabi Alonso and their respective careers.
Could easily see Xabi Alonso at city in a coaching capacity next season considering his retirement and his friendship with Pep. Saw a few quotes recently from pep saying Alsonso will make an amazing manager because he has such a great understanding of the game.
