Millwall fans refused entry - Complaint upheld

the club was right

you never know if they have not had there injections and coming up north from down south you don't want to catch Delhi Belly (Traveler's diarrhea) from drinking the water in manchester

It seems like a daft judgement if they rely on an FOI request which isn't proof either way is it, as not all communication is recorded forever, especially not phone calls. City could have thought there may be a couple of coach loads attempting to get in, hard to know where to draw the line. The IFO doesn't say that City were wrong not to let them in, just that the complaint handling was poor as far as I can see too.

If they hadn't made it known they were Millwall fans they would have got in too.

It become known that the group are Millwall because during general chit chat when buying the tickets, one of the group said something to the effect of "lucky we can get tickets here after our game was called off, our day isn't wasted". You were at home. Had you been away and MUFC were at home, then no doubt the group would have gone there. They just wanted to watch a game of football and were genuinely pleased to have an opportunity to visit the Etihad. I take your point about the history between your two clubs but equally, while I accept it's very unlikely, do you accept that there will be some City fans who could go to Old Trafford without causing a problem there? If the starting point is fans from rival clubs can't attend another ground without being a problem, isn't that a little depressing and just reinforces the notion that some have, which is all fans have the potential to be a problem, when that isn't the case at all?

A lot of fans wouldn't dream of going to another club when they have time on their hands but some just love football and would go anywhere to watch it. And a personal anecdote.. we support West Ham and our two young nephews are Chelsea fans. We've taken them to Stamford Bridge a couple of times and behaved, because we know how too, as do more people than don't.
Sounds like a bit of discretion should have been applied but I don't agree with your starting point that all fans should mix. I can handle my emotions. Sure most people can. But you put a group together from a rival City you'll soon have problems from a minority. You get minor problems at Champions League games at City when there are a lot of Italian, German, French, Eastern European fans of the visiting club who live in manchester and end up in the home ends. happened a lot when Barcelona visited city. There were a lot of Barcelona / neutrals in the City end. I remember for weeks season ticket holders near me were moaning about it. How they got tickets etc. In general I want to be sat next to and with City fans, and City's Ticket Office have a responsibility to ensure the security of the ground so we can watch the game. You can say these were adults and well behaved. But you could probably say that about a lot of people, and then they let themselves down. You know what football is like.

How is this a story in the first place? Someone didn't get in to an event. ... ... ... That was it or am I missing something?

Our ticket office is a joke, it has always been and it probably will always be. But FFS grow a pair and move on instead of going to cry to your mommy about it.
