Millwall V Wigan

It's just another example of why the FA are bellends for having the semi-finals at Wembley, but Millwall should also have anticipated the potential danger of flogging an additional 15,000 tickets to what was needed, presumably to any old dickhead that wanted one.

They've worked hard to clean up their act, and they have a very stringent membership scheme in place that generally prevents things like this from going on. But that scheme has obviously gone out of the window for this game and the resultant trouble was all too predictable unfortunately.

That game could easily have been played at Villa Park yesterday with more than enough tickets for both teams' regular fans, but the FA have a mortgage to pay so common sense has to leave the building.
Get used to it; apparently there is a 30 year agreement in place to have the semi finals played at Wembley. As you said, there's a big bill to be paid.

Oh yeah, I know nothing will change. But stupid decisions (like this) often end up with stupid consequences, and yesterday was one of them.

I know it's a different game etc but I can't start a thread for some reason. Did any you guys see Hibernian's come back at the Scottish cup semi final?

Yes. Some game that.

As for thread starting, I think you need 100 posts then you can start them.

spot on.

Whelan wanting minutes silence for the Queen of the free markets 'Thatcher' then voting for restraint of trade practices in football. What in idiot. Media white wash of Thatcher and violence at football matches, just like the 80's all over again.

I doubt it as the scenes were shown live on TV.

Personally I would force them to play X amount of games behind closed doors.
I'd exclude them from the cup competitions for 3 years.
Because of a few dickheads that kicked off? Bit harsh.
I agree , the majority of Millwall fans behaved in a manner which represents the club in a positive light and I believe too many people on here are being harsh on Millwall. They are Millwall they are Millwall they are Millwall from the den , know one likes them know one likes them know one likes them they don't care.

I seem to have the figure of 80 years in my head from somewhere, including fa cup, all play=offs and Engerland games.

You may well be right. It was mentioned during the commentary yesterday but, to be honest, I was only half listening at the time.

Not so very long ago, playing at Wembley was an almost unattainable dream for most professional (and amateur) English and Foreign footballers.

Nowadays, there's hardly a week that goes by without some football match or other played at Wembley.

I fully appreciate that the FA wants as quick a return on their investment as is humanly possible but the Wembley experience, both for the players and the fans has become diluted and devalued.
