Villa bought him - played him on the wing and he was shite - moved him to Central Mid and he was outstanding - City buy him and play him on the wing yada yada yada

well you know the rest

They have been telling us this all season: play Milner in the middle. This thread isn't just about today even though today was disgraceful, he hasn't looked well all season since Liverpool.

Today, not sure it would have mattered we were so shite. Some tough decisions are going to have to be made as to who plays.

For me he plays for either Barry or Yaya

Get him off the right wing and in the center for Barry (or even Yaya if he is going to play like that), then we might see more consistency from him. Johnson could also play more then one would think.

What happened to this guy? I realize he was never a Player of the Year contender, but he's now a shadow of his former Villa self.

Krasic on his worst day is at least not invisible.

Agree, even more galling when it's a fraudster like YaYa keeping him out of the middle, he must feel like the fresh fish in prison the way he's been buggered about by Makini.

Villa fan here, in nothing but peace!

Milner had a very good season last year, and had a "few" outstanding games. But he was guaranteed to play every single minute, of every single game, in his favourite position (thanks for that Mr O'Neill), so was able to be consistently good.

As Mancini stated when he bought Milner, he bought an English player who can play well in a number of position. Citeh, in my opinion, should be buying world class players who are specialists in their position, not jack of all trades, and master of none, which in my opinion Milner is.

As for Stevie Ireland, he's had an inconsistent start. Partly due to injuries and partly due to the emergence of Albrighton (who ive no doubt you'll be buying in a years time!).

To conclude, Milner is no way near good enough for a team who can tempt Silva from Valencia, Toure from Barca and Balotelli from Inter. Youre buying the best in the world, from the best teams in the world, Milner will never be near that.

For what its worth, I want to see City in the Champions League, as im bored of the normal top 4, (loving History FC's demise), and would love to see Fergie and his red nose follow suit.

After the liverpool game he just hasn't performed , but he just needs time and a goal to lift his confidence as on his day he will run a midfield very well
