no it won't - if we both lose saturday then winning the next 3 left, we will be clear in 4th no goal diff required.

What I was wrongly trying to show was that the outcome will go to the West Ham game, requiring us to win.

There were a few people on here who thought the Spuds game would have us clear and breathing easy.

Beating Spuds would only have us a point ahead at Hammers.

providing they win all their games that is!

It will be as you were after Saturday night.

Both us and Spurs will lose.

Even beating both Villa and Spurs now, still means we will have to go to West Ham and win, a draw won't be good enough.

Spuds have Burnley away on final day, so the goal difference could also be a deciding factor.

Why are you convinced we won't get anything at Arsenal? They've got a dodgy backline and are missing their best midfielders, recently both Wolves and West Ham have run them close at home so theres no reason why we can't go there and get something especially considering our recent away form

My opinion is based on Arsenal still needing one win to cement third - Wenger has acknowledged today how important the game on Saturday is.

Both us and Spuds could still catch them in third.

Arsenal love to play with freddom on ther own pitch, we are made for them in that respect.

They also have payback on their minds, not to mention Van Persie, who also thinks he has a couple of scores to settle.

Don't get me wrong, would love to be proved wrong, but doubt it very much.

-- Mon Apr 19, 2010 9:05 am --

I said to my brother before the game that the scum result wouldn't determine the season, united though not exceptional as years gone by are still bloody hard to beat, all this nonsense that the result is laughable. Spurs have done the business against two good sides, but unlike us have strugglEd awAy against lesser teams...... They may well grab a point at scum Trafford, but i'm more than confident that the most they will get at Bolton is a point, which in an ideal world would see us level going into the spurs game........ We've been waiting for a game like this for 30 years, it is our cup final and the fans will play a major part, the atmosphere Saturday was abysmal, as was that blue peter fucking ticker tape idea, that game, like hamburg has to be special...... A pitch Invasion would suffice if we win with mancio held aloft.

Spuds v Notlob is at Shite Hart Lane.

Question is, do Arsenal want Spurs to get 4th?

We've still got a great chance of getting 4th, but we shouldn't even be getting that cemented into our heads. We should be concentrating on one game at a time and see how it ends up at the end of May.

Hence, will will be one point ahead of Spuds going in to West Ham game.
