At the risk of sounding crass, I think one of the things that saddens me more is that countless halfwits have obviously bought into this manufactured image of him being football's bogeyman and think that his death is a good thing.
He made himself a target so that his clients could get what they wanted whilst being able to keep the public at arm's length and deny they had anything to do with it.
Not that I think he was a martyr because obviously he was far from it. He was rich beyond most people's dreams and did, in fact, made it off the back of other people's talent. But he provided a service and did it better than anyone else. There was a reason his reputation was what it was and why he was so sought after by players.
Anyway, I'm aware this is a bit OTT but I can't help but notice how blatantly fucking thick some people are on here and reading some of the comments has been frustrating.
