Yet we still all stand outside with a beer and a glove. Just shovelled my drive, it took 3 beers.
have given up shoveling the snow off the drive
every time i clear it more just comes from the sky and we start again
just have the beers it would have taken me

I bought a snow blower the other year, never looked back. Only use the shovel now to tidy up.

Shovelling snow is the only exercise I get other than swinging a hammer.

As daft as it sounds there are different types of cold, I have felt colder here than I felt when I was in the states and it was minus 15, I beleive it has something to do with the dampness of the air

I think you'll find that it has more to do with the clothes you are wearing. If you wore the clothes in Manc. that you should have on in -15 weather, you'd sweat your bollocks off.

No, honest I have heard this of other people too, it's to do with the humidity, it's like when it's hot here (very rare) but it always feels more uncomfortable because of the humidity

I think it's home heating. I was colder living in Spain than Moscow cos in Spain central heating is not typical. MOscow has it every where (and needs it)and it's mostly free. So minus 25 doesn't make you as ill +10. Somehow that adds up.
