I am a guide, I will show you the way
Firstly well done on all supporters as usual observing the minutes silence respectfully.

The reason why I start this thread is that 3 people in the row in front of me sat throughout . While they made no noise they continued drinking and eating throughout . I found this distracting for myself and disrespectful.

My wife claims they were making a political statement in not standing . With all the nonsense about the international next week i really hope this isn't true.

Why would they do this ?

Nothing to see here imo. beautiful tribute, impeccably observed and the family eating and drinking throughout wont take away from that.

Possibly they where tucking in before showsec arrived and confiscated the lot ;-)

Not all people are patriotic. I must admit I don't buy a poppy every year but it doesn't desensitise me in any way. The trumpet player yesterday really got to me , a packed stadium listening to a lone trumpet player and you couldn't hear a pin drop.

I don't see anything wrong with that.

Maybe they were tourists and didn't know what was going on?

The sound of the bugle player always makes me think what I would have been like in the trenches(useless, more than likely) but it brings into focus the sacrifice people made and continue to make

Yet again we didn't observe the silence. Fans started clapping when the trumpeter finished when that should have marked the start of the minute's silence.

We have started this 'trend' of applauding through minute's silences over the last few years at the Etihad and I don't like it. The end of year silence we have traditionally had has been an applause for the last two years and now yesterday as well.

There was never mention of a minutes silence

I just get uneasy when it's focused on the British military casualties. There were players of many nationalities out there yesterday. We should remember that both the major wars of the 20th century were avoidable and millions of combatants and civilians died when they didn't need to.

I was fuming as I entered the stadium yesterday. Was walking up the vomitory just as the announcer was starting the tribute. Some big fat obnoxious prick decided it would be a good idea to stop on the top step of the entrance blocking about 30 people behind him so they all missed out on the moment of respect. I asked him to move about 3 times as people behind me were pushing to get past and this prick starts giving it about showing respect. Yes I wanted to you fat oaf but I didn't want to spend two minutes sat looking at your fat arse from a lower step while being pushed. Some people.

If they want to sit, then let them sit.
