There's a massive difference between that kind of classic Pep exaggerated praise for a player who did well for him when he's still buzzing from winning a massive game and a simple, "No we aren't interested" in a press conference.
Think Peps doing the right thing not giving any info out and getting our hopes up as fans...like we learned these past two summers until everything is signed no one is our player
If we were making a genuine attempt to sign Pjanic I have a feeling that Pep wouldn't outright deny it, but then again who knows whats going on behind the scenes...

It would be interesting to see what narrative the media could conjure up to negate another league triumph, given that we may this year spend a lot less than are rivals.
I guess god forbid if we look as though we wont reach the heights of last year, the Pep out articles will start soon enough.
Nevertheless given last year the narrative seemed to move between we arent a great team as we need to retain the title, were not a great team as we have not won the champs league or we won the league by default as the other Prem team did not challenge, or the much travelled we won the league because we bought it.
If we win the league this year even with at least one more addition, ( dm hopefully) I would hope that would put all those arguments to bed.
I wont bet on it though.
