We have signed one of the Premier League's proven top players.

It's probably the best signing by any PL club in the transfer window so far. I don't understand how that can possibly be standing still.

18 days is 13 short of what we have in January? You're carrying on as if I'm demanding this before the season starts when I'm not. I'm purely stating the fact that in my personal opinion I think we need another 3 players & then we'll be ready to rock until Dinho, Silva, Kompany & Aguero need to be replaced. We haven't even got around to replacing Yaya yet & I fear it will only take a couple of injuries & suspension to put us under pressure.

If you disagree then fine, but don't get your G-Strings in a twist over it. It's just football banter on a forum ffs.

I even listed the overseas players for you, we are only allowed 17, what part of that can’t you get into your skull? Stop being a clown and do the maths yourself.

Of course we are going to attempt to improve the squad over every window, doesn’t take a genius to work that one out, it’s not like we would set out to weaken it.....

If you reach for the stars & only hit the moon, isn't it better than only casting your ambitions as high as a tower block?

We went for all four trophies last season & achieved 50% of what we aimed for. Should we just try for 2 this coming season so we can manage expectations & disappointment?

Exactly. But in the first place there has to be a plan & a will. I just don't get this 'Our squad is great as it is & we'll smash it next season' narrative.

Thankfully our owner had bigger ideas than than when he rocked up at Eastlands mate.

Haha. Look back at your posts and you’ll see your first one of the day said about signing the 3 players THIS summer, however you’ve now shifted that.

You’re just full of shit. Simple.

His point was in response to you saying we were standing still. I'm not sure how pointing out we tried to buy Jorginho helps that position either?

It’s this. The club identified Jorginho months ago so they obviously know the middle of the park needed strengthening. I’d guess city will play this all extememly close to vest to avoid a bidding war - that’s if they are when interested. Both players would improve the team but at what price?

The points I'm responding to is people saying our squad is OK as it is, but the fact we tried to sign Jorginho proves our management think differently.

We have deficiencies in our squad which need to be addressed. Getting Alves on a free would have sorted our defence past summer, but he went to PSG instead which meant we were a LB & RB short for cover, so we got Danilo whose primarily a RB, but can play LB.

This was a risk worth taking until Mendy was ruled out for most of the season. Luckily for us we had Delph & Zinchenko who admirably stepped up & dug us out of a hole.

Delph did enough to save us going out to buy another LB, but even Pep said he didn't know how effective Delph could be at the time. Lesson learned.

All I'm saying is that with a potential 60 matches next season, we have Fernandinho as our specialist CDM & Delph, but many don't seem to rate Delph in that position if Dinho was out for a period of time.

We haven't replaced Yaya who was of little use to us last season, so all I've said is that we should do all we can, as quickly as we can to plug these obvious gaps. How & when to do this is bugger all to do with any of us. We're just the fans discussing our opinions & options on an internet forum. However some seem to think our summer recruitment policy is a matter of blummin life or death... Jeez!

I'm not referring to you when I said that last part mate... :-)

At what price? That's for Txiki, Soriano & Khaldoon to work out. I'm sure they're aware of what we need to do & what we have to do it, so we'll just have to wait & see.

On another note, it's being reported Martial has asked to leave ManUre. I'd certainly put in a cheeky £30m bid for him as cover/competition for Sane. :-)
